About the Captain's Armor Set

Can I craft one myself in individual parts? What would I need in terms of level and items?
I've never done any crafting before, just bought stuff.

I saw that I can purchase this set in the forgery shop in Gran Soren but I'd like to also wear a helmet along with the armor, generally I'd like to mix and match pieces.

You can't craft armour and the parts of this armour set can't be found or bought individually

You can always use armor you buy or find and build your own stylish attire ensemble.

No, those full set armors occupy every slots, so you cant wear an ancient circlet (or any other helmet) at the same time :3

And also there's no such thing as crafting for gear and weapons. You can only upgrade them and it's a waste of time and money since dragonforging is basically free of charge and superior. Just go to BBi and bait a couple of cursed dragons at duskmoon tower...

Though if you're confident with texture editing, there's a tool to unpack arc files. Unpack the armor textures file, edit them in gimp then repack them. Basic operations consist in changing the color or deleting part of the armor by turning them transparent and doesnt require much knowledge in texture tweaking.
Search on youtube there's some tutorial on how to perform that, it's pretty quick and easy to do once you get the hang of it.

All sets are what's on the label, sets.
Now you can always try and assemble something similar, like:
Lordly cloak, Brown laced leggings, Plated coat and idk, gauntlets and cuisses from Hero's armor set?
but NPC armor sets were suppose to be unique and are.

I'd add assembled or dragonleather vest on top would be cool for the miniskirt; with some plate on top, though I'm not sure which of them has boob plate like the captain's set.

What level are these items and how can I get them? I never got far into this game nor have I beaten it and I'm starting again. I'm currently level 22.

Assembled Vest should be available at Caxton's Armory in Gran Soren as soon as you get there or very soon after I think. The darker Dragonleather Vest is later in the game though.
