It plays essentially the same at 30, the actual advantage of PC is readily available nongarbage pawn rentals at any level.
That said, playing in handheld doesn't really feel like the intended way, everything is kind of too small, but you can deal with it (and should if you're a Switch player, the entire point of that thing besides exclusives like Mario is the portability aspect).
Waiting for a sale means you can get it for about a quarter or third off the full price. yeah Nintendo sucks in that regard. Also, NSO sub is required for online.
You probably wanna check out GameFAQs or the like to friend people for free and good pawns.
PC is better, but playing good games when traveling etc. is also great. If you don't do that frequently, don't buy games for the Switch if they're available on any other current gen platforms.

While I'd have to say it's vanishingly rare that any sort of co-op doesn't require those memberships, in this case, the information that goes back and forth between individual players is very small.
