I think it is near essential for the auto save backup among other things. The more that I use it, the more uses I find for it.
Well, I hoped that the more seasoned veterans of DD could help me pick. 18 pages aren't exactly much(look at Skyrim lol), but it's better to get recommendations.
The vanilla game is...a diamond in the rough is how I'd describe it. So many "??? WTF ???" decisions made by Capcom. And not in a good, Souls way where you need to pay attention and then there practically is no wtf. Example, why is a Cyclops weak to Lightning? How can I deduce that? I can understand lizards and frost, most of living stuff and fire etc, but some things are bordering the unknowable until you try.
They should've made DD 2, not DD:O, a bland and pointless MMO(from what I can gather). But regardless, back to the mods, shall we?
I thought you were asking for mod suggestions.
Resonant ENB or other if you prefer:

Don't Blind Me:

Cheat Engine:

(This has so many functions just take it and see what you can do it's fun and useful)
World Difficulty:

You can also find it on Moddb:

(However you like but this mod was made with the intention of making the game harder.
It does more then that but unless you want your ass kicked I suggest you play through the game once before installing this!)
These are the MUST haves in my opinion.
The game doesn't have as many mods as something like Skyrim becuase modding Dragon's Dogma is very hard and not many people even know were to start.
There is plenty of armor mods to go around for tho.
And HD textures including UI I can also recommend but they aren't a necesity.
That's all you need for DDDA. Allow tweak, more shortcuts to access differents menus, editing your characters stats (wanna make a build quick without having to play a class you dont like for dozens of levels ? Just use the level up button and make your arisen or main pawn build in less than 5 minutes), cheat all day long for money and RC if you need to, edit your hired pawns skills, you name it...
Myself I also use a cosmetic mod that remove the scar on the arisen(ette) chest because... reasons...

It is, nevermind my comments about the game. I sometimes think out loud(well...sometimes).
Anything that fixes starting Pawn Inclinations or weird love mechanics? I can find most of other things. Though...
...this is beautiful, I'll admit! The ESC action is super silly. I know that Cap loves its menus, but come on!
Occasionally one runs across a pawn that was broken this way, and the fact that it stands there doing nothing because its AI cannot select an appropriate action for the situation is a bit sad.
The only way to fix this is to trash the save file and start over fresh.
If you really want your pawn to use specific inclinations, then edit them via the tools provided in the game, which are inclination potions.
Where in DDDA folder? I tried loading a save and pressing F12 did nothing. I even rebound the Steam screenshot key. Should I disable Steam Overlay perhaps?
I installed the latest one from Nexus mods. But F12 doesn't work. Let me try something...
edit: I thought too much. See, I put it in "native PC" because my natural instinct was to go hunting for the deeper folder that contains such .dll files. Works like a charm, though I'd like if the Augments added were visible. /meh
edit: It works with everything, it's just that the likes of Bastion don't show on character screen(wtf?).
As you have probably already noticed, you can edit stats way beyond the game limitations.
Try as much as possible to use the in-game mechanics when you can.
For augments/skills, just give your character the needed discipline points and vocations levels (dont forget to switch to said vocations at least once afterward for the level to take effect), then buy those skills/augments normally with the NPCs.
This might confuse the game if you give yourself skills or augment you shouldnt be able to use at your vocation level or for a vocation you havent unlocked yet.
And after editing something, make sure everything work properly before saving ofc...
Though it's perfectly fine to swap your skills on the fly if you already learned them properly...
Yeah, I'll just change some of more useless Augments. And such. I'd like to edit Inclinations, but I was informed that I better not do that.
