Sorcerer build
So I started playing this game quite a while ago and stopped when I reached level 40 something on my assassin. I wanted to give it another go but this time with a sorcerer build.

I did some research and I think I found a list of good augments to aim for.

Sorcerer
Acuity
Articulacy
Conservation
Gravitas

Ranger
Stability

Warrior
Ferocity

Mage
attunement

Now I listed 7 because I was wondering if stability and gravitas stack? If not I'll probably just drop stability

My main question however is, what is the best way of getting these augments? Should I just go mage > lvl 10 > sorc > all sorc augments > fighter > ferocity> back to sorcerer?

Or how does this work?

Forget about gravitas, if something smacks you, it'll pretty much always interrupt you because sorcerer armor just sucks.
Stability is much more useful. You wouldn't believe how infuriating it is if your 10 seconds of high glicel charging gets lolinterrupted because lickel dwagon flaps his wingsies and you had to shield your eyesies.

What you want for damage are the 10 and 20% ones and assassins autonomy which kicks in as soon as all your pawns go down. In other terms, very frequently.

You'll also want the eminence augment from the strider so your bunnyhopping when shooting charged up focus bolts which you will eventually regress into when faced with a boss that won't let you stand there for 5-10 seconds actually does some extra damage.

As for how to get all of that, for stats, ideally you only level up sorcerer from lv 10 on so avoid leveling as something else.

Oh yeah and apart from articulacy, you'll also want to have the wyrmking ring in your inventory which gives you another 10% spellcasting speed. You'll eventually get it in the mainquest line and have to make a forgery that you turn in to keep it.

Thanks for the feedback.

Can I get stability if I just keep leveling up as a sorcerer? Don't I need to level up as a ranger then? It's been a while since I last played so kinda forgot how the whole leveling system works :/

Also found that info on the ring, seems really useful!

You only need to increase the vocation rank of ranger to get it.
Vocations don't level with exp, they level with discipline points and weaker enemies get you proportionally more of them, for example something that gives you around 100 exp will give you 50 dc and something worth 2000 exp will only give you around 200 or something. Haven't checked the actual numbers.

Point is, just killing weaklings will level up your vocations without leveling you up.
Taking a look at how close you are to leveling before changing vocations helps too and there's a ring in bitterblack isle that'll give you 50% more discipline behind a moonbeam door which you can get just running through the place so you might want to get that as early as possible.
