i just realized that you can have a beloved using a ring and the only two characters i would've choosen is reynard and valmiro. i know it's too late for reynard since i completed his quest. know i fear i may have missed out on valmiro because i cant trigger the dying of curiosity quest. can someone please tell me if there is a way to find valmiro without the quest or if im out of luck. thanks

I pissed on his quests and still was stumbling upon him in Cassardis, if I recall correctly. Is he there?

The ring is not very useful. The beloved you rescue depends on how much afection you have with him/her. As a matter of fact i had full afection with Reynard, Madeleine, Selene, Quina, Fournival, Mercedes, Julien and Symone, although i don't know wich one had the most higer level. They all appeared with the pink aura and the characteristic sound. I gave the ring to Quina but to my surpraise was Madeleine the one i had to rescue... so, even if the ring rise the afection level i guess the quantity of gifts given will determinie the beloved to rescue.

In my case, Madeleine. I gave her a lot of magick medals, Golems drop many of them.

And the Valmiro's quest.. well i don't really know what triggers it. When i play this on PS3 never didi that quest. Now on pc i found it, i just followed all the steps normally and completed without problem. As far as i know if you are in the middle of Valmiro's quest there will be no aditional menu to gift him the ring.

It was said, on DD wiki, that The Dragon picks the last person with the highest affinity Arisen spoke to before doing Deny Salvation quest. Ofc it's not really easy to measure who likes the Arisen how much so, if one has numerous BFFs it's good to lower affinity at ppl you definitely don't want as beloved ;)
And high affinity isn't even that profitable anyway.

Well on my games just give the ring will be the person as a beloved and the dragon will take her. Unfortunately on my recent game I’m not interesting in anyone, but I made the quest to fournival be innocent and for my surprise the dragon took him
