How Good is The Duke's Clothing Potential?
So, I'm not a Dragon's Dogma expert, but I do have over 70 hours logged in. I beat the game on hard my first playthrough, and am now on NG+ (I'm playing through again because I did not play Black Isle and I missed some quests on my first playthrough that I want another stab at). Anyways, my question(s) is concerning the Duke's clothing. I was able to triple star upgrade this clothing set and it seems pretty damn good (especially with all the bonuses and resistances it gives!). My questions concern: How good can I get this set? Some say that I can Dragon forge it and so on, even to gold level. I don't fully understand how to upgrade past 3 stars other than to beat the game and have the gear I'm wearing be automatically "red-star" dragon forged. (how do Igold forge????). So, is there a way for me to fully max out this set (the Duke's clothing) and would it be worth it to try? Or should I look to other combinations of gear? I prefer the sorcerer's build, as that one gav:alchbottle:e me the most fun (I just like a powerful sorcerer.)

You kill a dragon to get a chance to have things dragon forged. A cursed dragon gives the best odds of DFing things with 1-3 star upgrades. Lesser dragon kin (like the runt one at DevilFire Grove) may or may not DF anything at all. DFing has three levels and each improves things more. When you defeated Grigori you got everything you were using/wearing dragon forged at the first level. Within BBI there is a fellow that can ujpgrade equipment to the 2nd (silver)and 3rd (gold) level provided you have the required materials and the right quantitiy of them. Usually these materials are obtained as drops from things you kill and cannot be purchased. Forgeries of the materials will work. You will need darn near everything improved to gold level dragon forged to defeat the Ur-dragon (which makes Grigori look like a pip-squeak). The best gear is BBI level 3. This can only be obtained by having cursed BBi weapon/armor clusters purified by Orla, a maiden that can be found in the BBI harbor area. The main game (the one you beat already) is phase 1. You still have NG+ and BBI to go through. Having the cursed things purified costs rift crystals, some cost quite a bit actually. There is also no gurarentee that what you get, after the cursed things are purified, is something you want or need. It is not unusual for it to take 2 or more attempts. The cursed clusters can be dropped from things you kill or may be found in chests within BBI.

In many ways your game is just starting. Have fun!!
