Well, maybe one more: if you change to Mage ;)
but that's all about taste.
In the case of Magic Archer, a hybrid class, it need both magic and strength.
I think Strider is way more easy to play that MA, the damage of the skill brain splitter + eminence is really good, you can kill everything in no time and for enemies like living armor (second phase) and ghosts/phantoms you can use the daggers "heaven's key" for magic damage.
I'm going to go against the grain of "try everything" because that's what you do for NG+ and thus extend your time with the game; learn new stuff with it, which you can do as a sorcerer, learning how the monsters and pawns do stuff. Learning the "flow" of optimal and fun combat, which is DD's absolute best feature.
There is no learning with MA. MA is a nuclear weapon in the vague shape of a person.
Nine Fold Bolt, Eplosive Rivet, Bouncy Electric ♥♥♥♥ YOU, and Immolation+ 1000 kisses obliterates anything in the game in literal actual seconds, as in less than ten. Anything. Bosses, specials, quest monsters, whatever.
MA is the equivalent of duck hunting with a minigun.
Back in the day, a chunk percentage of players was having trouble with the game as it was, because they refused to learn how stat growth and resistances/thresholds work. Problem was, there was another group of players who A were angry about the assassin nerf pre BBI and B wanted more challenge, much much more challenge.
Capcom satisfied both groups, and the answer to the first group not even being able to finish the main quest much less handle BBI's Very Large Angry Monster Collider was the rebalanced Magic Archer, and by rebalanced they meant "turned up to 11".
Cause "he's got it all". MA doesn't have it all...
How bad is it I'm not sure as I've never tried it myself, it could be a meaningless difference or a very impacting one for all I know.
In a word, no.
The MK does not have it all. The MK is reliant on casts and enchanting for specific types and the MK is reliant on a literal separate powered source for damage. What the MK *is* is a fair trade tank with solid DPS, solid AoE and lots of defensive options.
The MA's burst DPS is completely unchallenged, and all the youtubes of Ranger owning a ______ in seconds rely 100000% on periapts, weak spots and 11 billion blast arrows.
No such animal is needed for MA. No periapts, no gimmick/utility arrows and no enchanting.
The only reason I even bother using MA is for reciprocation; when people rent The Beast, I always reciprocate, and that would normally entail running their pawn through BBI from start to finish with whatever setup I'm currently using.
However when I'm pressed for time because of job concerns, MA is the answer because BBI can be completed in about 40 Minutes if I've got some time or I can just break Daimon in half in 10 minutes with a left gate run.
The MK cannot in any universe or amount of periapts do a 10 minute left gate unless you skip every enenmy and just hammer Daimon himself. Not with periapts, tagilus super elixir, salomet's secret succubus squirt juice, whatever. Not happening, even with sorcerer buddy casting fulminate on three MCs.
That 10 minutes is with ENB loading btw, turn ENB off and it's pretty much a done deal in about 6 mintues or so.
and for the record MA actually does have it all. His/Her DPS power is Ice with insane tracking, which all three toughest enemies in the game are weak to, his CC power is fire and causes KD 100% of the time, their other CC is holy and procs restoration 100% of the time, their room clear is electric and can drop Death on his ass reliably without need for enhancing provided the fighting space in not an Arena or larger, and immolation + 1000 K can kill daimon in two casts if he tries any focus ability or becomes staggered/stunned.
on top of that, he/she has the invulnerable roll and can use instant reset, and benfits from wyrmking ring and the 10% cast speed augment.
The MA is literally a class unto its own.
I don't see that this way.
Seeker bolt is scattered damage, and a faulty one as it constantly misses it's target, and procs restoration's like 1 in a million and that's defnitely not a meaningful healing.
Sixfold bolt requires point blank shot for maximum efficiency as, again, has faulty mechanics and tend to lose some secondary bolts to surroundings.
Ricochet bolt and Explosive Rivet are OP, but as said above, in enclosed spaces ergo very situational. Also Dagger skills are nice, especially Immolation, Shadowshackle and Rebuffer. And last but not least he has wonderful Magickal Gleam, the undeadbane.
Mystic Knight on the other hand has OP Holy Focused Bolt on demand, and this indeed procs like hell. He can lay multiple sigils that'll stunlock every enemy possible (well, Dragons are tricky), and chain it with devastating set of Great Cannons. He can also block stuff unblockable by other shield vocations and even regain HP by blocking (past white bar), and finally can put stuff to sleep and even stole a blackhole sigil" from MA.
Oh, and did I mention he has every single element at his disposal -plus pure Magick, skills, not just puny bolt- and can cast Archsorceries? Well, now I did.
On top of that Mystic Knight has a powerful shield and considerable physical attack power as well ...and a cool choice of clothing ;)
MK benefits from said ring and Augment and also [all of his weapon skills] benefit from the most powerful weapon kind, rusted weapons, and appropriate Augments. MA lacks this, he can barely pew pew with his laughable Rusted SpellBow, silently hoping to proc on goblins at least (or limt himself by using a Rusted staff) as not a single of his bolts benefits this... now I wonder if the situation with Golden weapons is similar.

MA comes nowhere close. Nor does Assassin, Ranger or any other vocation.
Really? Can a MK clear out 7 Living Armor, a Lich, and Wight in less than a minute solo? I suck at this game and I can almost do it in a minute. I am sure there are people with talent that do it in about 40 seconds or less with a MA.

I don't know if the Wiki is wrong or the damage done is wrong in my game. Wiki says that Living Armor have 82K hp. The game says that my most damage is 52K. I could not even tell you when it would have been. It doesn't make much sense when I can one shot Living Armor and the game says that the most damage that I have done is significantly less than the HP for the Living Armor.
I'm also not talking about seeker, it's scension. that procs 100% of the time and does CC.
You mean the same skill MA has, that one? And?
As for other stave skills, by the time those are cast the monster should be dead, which was my point to begin with.
Not taking damage at all generally trumps being locked in place until the monster finishes his thing, even if you cast a nice giant Holy Hadouken back at it
1. Scension does the same thing so does radiance, both of them faster, much faster, which again is the premise of the original post.
2. Not taking damage at all negates the need for invoking healing to begin with if we're going to start talking absolutes to up the argumentation ante ala gamfaqs, but I'm not interested in synthetics, only time tested practicalities of efficiency.
Again if you have to whip out a proxy object to "do a trick" in the time that needs to occur the target should be dead or receiving a second attack. Tangentially you're also moving the goalposts, and you're literally moving them in the opposite direction. Fighting a goblin in BBI entails one shotting him, so proccing anything on a corpse is of little valuation in this particular metric.
I have 7 gigs of graphic and sound mods thrown into the folder and 5 gigs of MAEK HARDER GAEM DPS FETISH YOSH! so I'm not even going to touch that point at all. You do you.
it's very polite of UrD to point his face directly into double Fulmination holy procced MCx3 on the west side pillar, but again that requires a setup and an enemy willing to help out that set up, which again was my point. You can do the same to Daimon by taking off your pants and waving your butt at him as your sorcs offer up fulmination lubrication libation behind a pillar, and by the time you get that sigil 2/3 canon remix going, the MA is already on bar three with the framaes and immolation provided Daimon hasn't done his ♥♥♥♥ you I can do immolation too fire boogaloo dance, in which you'll be be a bar to two and half bars in.
The MK is by far my favorite class, but for obliteration efficiency and removing "situational play" from the game, the MA skillset and tools are vastly above the MK's especially in the "dead on demand" department, even with Lefein's ridiculous "every enemy must be hit by a 3000 strength weapon to take unresisted damage, even harpies and bandits" mod.
While it's been fun reliving the gamefaq days by arguing about which waifu is the sparkliest and has the largest ...eyes, the gamefaqs days have already opened, examined, and shut this book to the boring ol dust of stats and facts, and I have no interest in rolling around in cobwebs when I could be punching dragons in the face for no raisin.
I recall him having Focused Bolt. To get Holy element he needs "an assisstance". And you know how "assisstance" works at times...
The shield is for a reare occasions where one get's pinned or missteps. A bad timed cast? SHIELD. A bad aimed Holy Bolt? SHIELD. A bad terrain? SHIELD? You can't dodge all and everywhere. But you can block it all and even return some damage.
1. Again. Scension is riskey, it makes you perfectly still for far too long, and has next to no tracking ability. I'd call it an Archer's Holy Furror, very situational.
2. But should you take any damage you got nothing. And MK got that covered? Get it?
I will not pretend I understand anything of this. What?
But just in case you mean elemental enchantments: you cast it, you shoot focused bolt, lay a Cannon or prepare Sigil for the incoming group, no "proxies".
Overall: MK has melee capability, MK has range capability, MK had psusical and magickal gamage, MK has healing and blocking, therefore
"he has it all".
