BTW I wonder what's the lvl/equipment of your Pawns.
go and try yourself on BBI if you find the maingame to easy for now. youll be suprised.
the game is not dark souls tough. so dont expect the same level of challenge to overcome in generel.
what i like is that BBI can still kill you even at max level with the best gear if you make a mistake at the wrong time or underestimate certain enemys especially on hard mode.
i hope tc isnt playing on EASY and claims the game is easy. as that would be stupid.
The only reason im not playing on hard though is that people actually say that hard is easier then normal.
Due to the extra xp and gold your character actually outlevels enemies even faster on that mode, although the very beginning is difficult due to being 1 shot... But thats because that mode is actually designed for a second playthrough rather then actually being a true difficulty option.
Yeah i dont know what bitterback isle is but i shall go looking for it i guess :P
Im just using starting stuff at the moment.. Had no real reason to buy anything yet other then a better bow for damage output.
Ok so heres a question... Could i actually just go through the game not buying any new weapons at all? would that be possible or just stupid?
Do higher level weapons do significanlty more damage or just a bit more? That might be a nice self imposed handicap.
For your first question i would say it's possible but tedious. Very tedious, i would not be surprised if it would take more than a month to complete the game as for completing Bitterblack Isle? Erase those thoughts lol you wont be able to even kill the grim goblins on the first floor.
And as fo the second question yes they do a significant damage depending on the weapon. Bitterblack Isle is all you need to complete main game, it would be way too easy but if your using them on bitterblack Isle then your gonna need them. All in all i would say the main game is easy enough if your just playing it by itself. Bitterblack is where all the action really happens not even the post-game of the main game is comparable.
you CAN try to do that. however especially on BBI youll run into super long fights then. like REALLY long and drawn out just to down some simple critters there. dont think the enemy difficulty remains the same as the game start.
i wont say its not possible because it probaly is but you would fight some enemies for ages due to thier massive hp not beeing balanced for not getting better gear. its actually harder than doing a low level run for sure.
for example : the highest dmg one handed weapon in the game does around 2000 dmg. compare that to what you can wear now. then youll get the idea on the difference :P
if you rest in cassardis, rest until nighttime, exit the inn and go to the peir and there will be a woman (Olra) there, talk to her and she will show you BBI, your gonna get stomped though.. most likely, i will bet on the first 4 wargs myself.
your going to need better weapons, BUT.. keep your rusted bow on hand for later, your gonna want it, make sure you upgrade it, 3 stars if possible so it has both debilitations. rusted daggers are useless IMO, but the bow.. far from useless.
In the way to The Shadow Fort, near the Hardship Lake, you can face your first drake, really challenging at low levels and if you defeat it you can have a chance to Dragonforge some of your items. He comes at nightfall along with some goblins.
BBI is way more tougher, so i don't recommend go there under lvl40, 36 could be enough if you want to endure the first floor. If you go with a high level pawn it could help a lot.
Yah i agree lol OP should tell us his reaction when he gets there i remember fighting those wargs first time lol.
i went low level myself..
i had a blast.
i died a bunch too though.
that day was the day i remember playing the most though too.
whats worse I had so much fun getting stomped i stayed there, i never went back to the main game for MONTHS, by the time i went bak to the main game i was already level 200 and in L3 armor and armed with L3 weapons.. not much challenge.
that in turn ruined the everfall for me, made it into a trip for like 7 specific items in specific chests and whatever rings, armor you could buy down there and nowhere else.
BBI wrecked the rest of the game really, i loved it, still do.
Couln't have said it any better, totally agreed.
You can try to fight with the starting weapons, in time you will do less and less damage, so fights will be really long (1-2 hours per boss.. our hours, not in-game's), Eventually you will find better armor and weapons in chests along the game so is your desision to use them.
Higher level weapons do more damage, especially if they are dragonforged. You will do around 2000-2700 base damage with maximum dragon-forged weapon but the final damage will be affected by your strenght and magic levels, so it depends on your build.
There is also rusted/golden/black weapons that inflict way less damage but with the plus of debilitations. Debilitations are agreat aid agaist some bosses and high level creatures, so using this weapons along with normal weapons you can deal much more damage. See, at the very start the game offers you rusted weapons, they worth keeping.
