Also, the idea of a pawn to help an Arisen from another realm tells me that it could be several Grigoris in the world, or maybe in other version of Earth. At the end Grigori serves his purpose and bring the Arisen to face the Seneschal. You become the next one and the circle repeats.
Ur-Dragon represents an intermediate steps in the way to Seneschal, as he exist in the Everfall only, a very important place for Pawns and i want to stop here for a momment.
The Ur-Dragon have power over Pawns, he can control them and somehow control the creatures over Gransys because they also exist and appear on Everfall (i belive). Grigori in other hand doesn't control creatures, because all appear at the same time as shown in the start cinematic.
So, Ur-Dragon is far more powerful than Grigori. Now here is when my theory begins:
Ur Dragon is in the same category of Daimon, why? Daimon is an Arisen who wants to break the circle, he have the power to kill Arisens, to kill pawns all this in his own domains, The Bitterblack island, he is the result of a wish made to Grigori.
Ur-Dragon is a version of Grigori with a different aproximation. He absorb Arisen's heart, and by doing this he can control pawns, so Ur-Dragon could be a version of Grigori who also wants to break the circle and doing this he and Daimon becomes alterated version of the circle, and at the same time they are optional parts of the circle because you can face the Seneschal without facing any of them.
Ur-Dragon also have his own domain wich is the everfall. I don't know if Ur-Dragon was the first Grigori ever or some of the many that have existed. What i could thing of this is that the everfall Exist in all Arisen's realm at the same time and Ur-Dragon can go to one realm (offline) or exist to anyone (online) wich means that is visible to all Arisens that exists.
Pawns say that Everfall is a important place for them. I think it is because here is where Ur-Dragon can breaks the link between Arisens and Panws. But this also happend in BBI, the difference is Daimon kill them all and Ur-Dragon control all pawns by killing the Arisen.
Like what if Grigoris form was an echo or shadow of Ur Dragon, shaped by Seneschal as a trial and upon dragons death Ur Dragon gains knowledge and experience? What if Ur Dragon online isn't the whole dragon but constantly infinitely fragmented, with every fragment posing as a trial for worthy Arisens, and as a result it's a response to all Arisens combat skills and knowledge and acts like a pawn of some greater existence learning about Arisens and human limits in general.(I know it's a stretch but it would be so cool :D)
We are not exactly meant to fight Ur Dragon, he's just there and we happen to stumble upon him. Maybe Ur Dragon is older than Seneschals themselves. It's beyond time, chained by some even greater being. Another interesting thing is title of Seneschal itself - it describes more or less a steward or majordomo. That raises a question - who's the Lord of the house and what Seneschal truly watches over?
