Checklist for which SideQuests to complete, when
Played this game way back in the day; saw it was on sale on Steam, figured what the hell, give it a go on PC.

I don't remember a heck of a lot about the story, but I do remember that certain Sidequests are only available for a limited time; some main quests advance the story and, once taken, lock out sidequest stuff you haven't done yet. One thing that springs to mind being the sidequests that establish that Witch lady and the healer/cousin who saves you in the beginning - I missed one such quest right near the start of the game, which locked me out of a bunch of content later that I reallhy wanted to try.

I'm not looking forward to digging through guides and walkthroughs to figure out what I have to do, when. So, is there a checklist available, or like a (mostly) spoiler-free guide that tells you which quests advance the story chapter, and what other quests you need to finish before then? Thanks!

I just look up the various game stages on the Wiki. It's quick and to the point.

Elita has given you the check list you want.

The game has 7 stages to the main storyline. The first stage ends when you finish the quest "Off with it's head" and the second when you hand in the "Wyrmhunt" quests. Helpfully the NPCs you hand the quests into at these points will always ask if you wish to proceed. Before any quest it's worth doing a hard save (go into a rift stone) just in case you ♥♥♥♥ it up and want to try again, however there are a few of the main quests where there is an automatic hard save at the start.

If you do miss or fail any quests all is not lost as you can try again in NG+ (New game plus).
