Ranger Build stat growths with other classes?
Hey, so I just wanted some quick tips on how to build my character, So currently i'm at level 28 with my arisen, I played strider until I hit gran soren, and once I could swap to advanced vocations I took assassin, and have been playing assassin to 28 so far, Would it be a good idea to pick up say, fighter for a while for more defenses? Or should I just stick to assassin to max out the vocation, then swap to ranger? Any tips about this would be great.

Builds are mostly about leveling up while having some Vocation of the list of 3 active

Need more Power and Stamina - Assasin
Need more HP - Warrior
Need to be better in magick in anyway - Sorcerer

Actual Vocation leveling up does not matter for building stats, only to unlock skills\augments

So builders usually do something like
10 levels of something of 3, 50 - 100 levels of something of 3, 100-200 levels of something of 3, and only then start to play with chosen class xD

So for ranger best builds seems like 1-10 Fighter/11-200 Assassin and after that you start to play as Ranger lol.

So all those levels you Put into assasin should be worth it (stat-wise)

Well, on one hand Ranger has "wasteful" stats growth, on the other, it really takes time to master the Vocation.
You may think: this is a bow and this is a bow, piece a cake. But no, it will take time before you will cease to abhore the "stifness" of Ranger and start appreciating his power.
But to even take advanatage of this you will need long training. So, you better ask yourself if this whole time put into the Assassin is worth this 2 additional Strength points, and 1 HP more.

BTW As for Fighter, if anything I'd level as one to get his Augments. And for increasing survivalability Warrior's augment Clout is better (and you don't even have to level as one)

Just pick what stat grows you like more for defence or something else, and level in that class for number of levels you need.
Levels 11-100 Health Stamina Attack Defense MagickAttack MagickDefense Fighter 37 15 4 4 2 1 Strider 25 25 3 3 3 2 Mage 21 10 2 1 4 4 Warrior 40 10 5 3 2 1 Ranger 21 30 4 2 3 2 Sorcerer 16 15 2 1 5 5 Assassin 22 27 6 2 2 1 Magick Archer 21 20 2 3 3 4 Mystic Knight 30 20 2 3 3 3
There are some more tables, for 101-200, etc..

Sorry if I derail this topic a bit but is it important to mix-maxing stat growth like this, or is it just a preference ? I'm currently playing Hard Mode and I have reached Gran Soren and I was fine thus far (lvl 27, cleared Witch Wood's and Saurian quest).
Sure, if I got hit I'll die in 2-3 hits (warrior), or 1 hit if it's from cyclop's club or something along that line.
But I find that having shield up make me pretty invincible and my damage dealing ability is not that bad.

It is just some people like to optimize builds :)
Game is totaly fine if you dont do any of it and play and level as you like.
Its not like there is some PvP here like in DarkSouls, And in singleplayers anything is good.

One little caveat with Rangers is Gamble Draw and Great Gamble. Damage is derived mostly from stamina use and not strength. Since Rangers have the highest stamina growth, it makes sense to stay Ranger as it will maximize effectiveness of this skill.

Depends what skill you wanna relly on for dps. If you plan on using your utlimate arrow skill, having lot of stamina will be the key more than having lot of Attack, if you think about playing tenfold + exploding arrows, it's already overkill anyway, but building attack is the key for maximum damage. What you need to keep in mind is that ranger are meant to fight from afar, so having little physical defense is not too crippling if you keep your distances, but compared to short bow users, they got little to no mobility when firing, so you might get caught by suprise by a spell...

Ranger's a key component of 550/550 4k/4k 3xx/3xx (Phys/Mag power, HP/Stam, Defenses) build which makes it fantastic in my book.
