why can't i use a 2 handed sword?

i picked fighter because i wanted to have a 2 handed sword, but i can't use it, there is a armor with a red line and blue background on top of the item, can anyone please tell me why i can't use it?

Because you're a fighter, not a warrior. Your vocation affects what weapons you can use.

At which part of the Vocation pick screen it is said Fighter uses two-handed swords? Are you straight from Worth A Buy video? ;)

You have to be a Warrior to use a two handed sword.

As people mentioned it already, in this game you are very limited by your vocation which weapon you can use and how. And fighter can only use one handed weapon and shield.
