Weird gray haze?
I accidently fell in the water, when I warped out out the game has a really heavy grey/darkness haze filter. At night it's pitch black even with a lantern.

This is at noon, in full sunlight with normal brightness.

As far as i know it is the way it is and its not a glich/bug or anything of the sort. It was made to look that way i guess...

Some days are dim and hazy, others bright and clear. That is perfectly normal in this game. That said, night is always dark, and the "post-game" is always much darker than before the event that triggers it (avoiding a spoiler there). If your lantern is dark you just need to add more oil to it. Use the "combine" function Or, since you say you fell in the water, did you remember to put it away and take it back out again to relight it? If you don't then it will stay dark until you lose the "drenched" status effect you show in that pic.

Yeah. In short, this game has some simple, but impactful weather effects that will change the way you see the world. Night time is intended to simulate real night time (not in the city with lights, but in the wilderness with darkness and star light). You'll learn to use the latern but be aware that is doesn't radiat when equiped by pawns and npc's. For them, it only acts as a way to more easily see where they are at night time. There is a augment learned by the Ranger that will increase the lumination of the lantern as well as an item found in the dlc area (not beginer friendly) that is an super lanter with even greater lumination distance (still effected by the ranger augment). Those two upgrades should help you if darkness is too dark for you.

I should have specified, I fell into the ocean and when the game warped me out everything is really dark and muted. It's been like this for days ingame. At night, even with the lantern equipped, I can't see the ground or my character lol

Honestly, except for you being drenched I don't see anything out of the ordinary in that pic you posted. It just looks like one of the dimmer daytime lighting situations.

provide a better pic to demonstrate this. If you warped from far away it is possible for the weather to have changed.

For whatever reason it looked way darker ingame than it did in the screenshot, but reinstalling the game fixed the issue.

Odd. But I won't argue with a happy ending. Cheers!
