I rarely use my daggers, but that’s me. Instant Reset is what I equip them for, I use it constantly to cancel animations such as Dodge Roll.
Also think about useful Augments. The ranger ones of Trajectory and precision are good but other Augments I'd recommend are: Sinew, Impact, Clout and/or Vehemence, Ferocity & Bastion.

I'd also recommend carrying a rusted longbow as well as your main one to torpor beasts whcih makes many fights much easier.

Hope that's helpful.
Crippling Arrow may not be that useful until BBI and even Hardmode though since staggering isn't as difficult in Gransys and is unnecessary on normal mobs. A sniping skill would probably be more useful in the early levels.
I also love cutting wind + instant reset for moving around when I'm in a hurry. It'll eat up your stamina, but it's a whole lot faster than running. It will help you get behind enemies' defences too. Hundred Kisses is also nice to have on hand in case you need to climb onto something to kill quickly before it escapes--wyverns or griffins for instance. On most dragons, I'll just use my bow, but on firedrakes, I do tend to find that the fight goes smoother if I climb to the heart and use Hundred Kisses.
I like Spelunker's augment list too, but may I add a couple warnings? I was told that Impact doesn't affect bows unfortnately (that made me sad!). And remember that after a point, distance decreases damage, so just take that into consideration if you plan on using Trajectory (don't give it to a pawn anyway since they don't know how to snipe).
I hope you have fun being a ranger! It's definitely my favorite class.
