i've got a sorceror pawn, there nice and all. but i think its time to switch things up and re-roll a ranger pawn. whats a good lv up build for best stats? like lv as x class for so many lv's than switch to diff class for more stats ect ect

The best skills ranger has are Tenfold Flurry and Great Gamble, which consume a ton of stamina. The latter being heavily dependant on stamina for damage. IMO, I'd take Ranger from 10 to 100 since it has highest stamina gain, and second highest strength, for pawn vocations. Warrior gets one more strength per level, but has the lowest stamina gains, it's not worth it. After 100, I believe Warrior and Ranger have the same stat gains, except Warrior gains one more Defense per level. so I'd switch to Warrior after 100.

Use a level planer, for example this one:

http://stackoverflow.github.io/dragons-dogma-stat-planner/#am19190f190000000000006400000000000000

The current build in the planer is the current build for my pawn.

Well yeah I guess it depends, but I use Great Gamble so I want stamina, and you can certainly get them to spam Tenfold Flurry quite heavily.

  • 1-10 fighter/11-200 warrior grants ~3000 ST which is more than enough for a pawn
Warrior from 10 to 100 has 1620 stamina at 100. Ranger has a little more than double that. The extra benefit from stamina for tenfold and great gamble far outweighs the strength benefit from Warrior. Especially considering the stats on Bitterblack weapons. Having to level your pawn all the way to 200 to get a good amount of stamina is silly. I could be wrong on this, but I think the closer the pawns stamina gets to empty, the less likely they will use skills like Tenfold. Having more stamina gives them a much larger window to spam skills. I've had my strider pawn spam Fivefold plenty of times, on bosses.

Stamina is important for damage calculation of "Great Gamble" (most good ranger pawns for GG have above 4K at 200)
Warrior gives the best STR increase (and some good HP) which is good for physical attackes in general and "Tenfold Flurry" to get through the defence stat.

"Draken" (the top-tier ranger) has natural 700 STR (and two 99STR boost rings) for his Tenfold flurry and it shows.

I min maxed my strider pawn by starting of with changer her to Warrior for leveling up and by level 40, I could tell it was a huge mistake. Fighting ogres, chimeras, anything big, she was constantly running out of stamina. I don't expect people renting her to give her shrooms. If you switch between Warrior and Ranger for level bonuses, Dont start off with Warrior like I did. The stamina is way to low during the first 60 levels on Warrior alone.

This is how I am doing my pawn now. Fighter to 10, Ranger to 57, then Warrior to 100. That gives you 519 attack at 100 with 2560 stamina. If you level your pawn to 200, Warrior from 100 to 200 will give you 719 attack and 4060 stamina.

Draken only runs as a GG Ranger in my own game, because most players either won't or don't know how to manage their GG Ranger's stamina effectively. GG is also terrible crowd control, so a GG Ranger should be limited to Boss hunting.

He takes at least a bar and a half of HP off Daimon with one shot. This would not be the case if his base stamina were less than 4000.

I am personally not fond myself of GG Rangers outside of BBI bosses. Pawns LOVE to use their big damage attacks (and fully charged sorceries) even against the smallest wolf.
Which means that the ranger pawn burns through stamina curatives way too fast for my taste.

I am content with my rangers tenfold flurry, which makes her DD:DA's equivalent of the [srike]guy [/strike] gal with a big machine gun in a FPS .
And she only have 3800 base stamina anyway.
