EDIT: How far did you get?
In conclusion, this game is more like an atmospheric walking simulator with ARPG twist rather than a solid RPG.
regarding slow movement, it can be slower or faster depending on your encumberance.
the game mechanics surrounding the player character are quite complex, it feels clunky at first but once you learn the nuances, its quite deep and challenging (to perfect).
The pawn action camera sucks rocks. If you decide to continue, turn it off.
+1, there is an option to turn it off under the gameplay tab, do it.
Also, I enjoyed every single aspect of the game except the stamina thing, I fixed it. Download a trainer, have some restraint and only turn on infinite stamina. I bound mine to something easy (tab) so that I can turn it on and off for combat scenarios. because being able to spam arrows like a machine gun forever makes combat boring, lol. now that I am approaching level 50 the game is absolutley fun, the fear of being instakilled goes down a bunch, unless you fight near cliffs...
