You can always run through the main story portion of the game again later if you want.
It's also useful to note that you don't need to do Daimon's awakened form to get level 3 weapons; some of the dragons will drop them throughout BBI after you've beaten Daimon for the first time, although they're obviously not a guaranteed drop. Silver or Gold dragonforged BBI level 2 weapons aren't significantly weaker than the level 3's, though, and they're fairly easy to get. Getting Framae Blades instead of Helmbarte Daggers isn't going to make or break or your Daimon awakened runs at all, for example.
Your goal is to get >2500 offense in your preferred damage stat to beat Daimon's resistances, and obviously more is better and speeds things up; that usually requires periapts or potions. Fournival sells them in Gran Soren, and you can just stockpile a bunch before starting a new game to save time.
