Advice Main Quest & Sidequest
The game is fantastic but the only problem with this game is that it has quite unnecessary sidequest, and what do you recommend doing only the Main Quest, or even Sidequest?

depends on how much exp you want to gain , do get all side qeust in one playthrough is hard so just focus on the npc ones (hero achievment) and not the blackboards im just taking blackboard kill missions but dont focus on them soon or late you have them finished, rushing main story will give you in NG+ like 2-4 lvls couse you lack out kinda of exp the story maybe brings dk for sure like 500-600k exp with all the enemys you have to kill i guess , i lvl on a speed run mode like 3 lvls xD from 65-68

You can get some neat stuff for doing some sidequests. Like the gold idol. Look up the wiki to see more.

Anyway the Main story is short or long?

I haven't finished it yet, but if you completely avoid sidequests it seems kinda short. Also, it'll probably be too hard because enemies don't scale with your level so you might run into some obnoxious fights.

Then again, if you power through the story some quests dissapear completely and you'll miss out on a lot of content.

If you do a lot of sidequests like i do before each story mission you'll be overleveled for them amd they'll be too easy.

Play the game your way i guess, what seems fun to you. There's always NG+ if you want to finish all the sidequests, and any gear you gain from the side and story quests is outclassed by the BBI items later anyway so...

Just do what is fun for you. If a sidequest is annoying just ditch it.

The only problem for this game is all sidequest (for me) useless, infact i want do only main quest.

Then do it. If a quest is too hard, just kill some stuff, get a few levels and try again.

Well, some side quest offer decent reward like the quest on clearing the ancient mine open up a shortcut from gran soren to devilfire Grove and some post game quest offer up decent weapon

The side quests are fine. It's the notice board quests that suck and aren't spaced out proporly over the course of the game. Just take some notice board quests for killing monsters and run through all of the side quests.given by people (those are the legit side quests and contain stuff that should have been in the main story).

if you do sidequest you will be overlevel most of the base game content making the main quest a joke just saying.

Also you are doing side quest or notice board quest ?

side quest gives you more lore about the game also you need to do all of them for "The hero" achievement, if you dont like the story just rush the main quests.

Um.. useless? Are you sure you actually want to play the game? I don't think there's much point in doing the main quest and nothing else.

Follow this guide and you'll be fine: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=600969749

While the guide is for a specific achievement, the quests listed are all important and usually give unique rewards and access. You can ignore all the notice board quests unless you feel like doing them (escort, kill x, fetch y, etc.).

I will note that escort quests raise your affinity with NPCs and some kill x and fetch y quests have large gold rewards and give Aneled/Golden weapons.

edit: Another tip: Grab all portable portcrystals as early as possible to make the game take far, far less time.

i did the side quest to open the ancient mines and defeat the 3 ogres.

i think i died more than 30 times, dark souls equivilant.

why are cyclopses boss monsters when ogres are 10x as hard?

Perhaps because the sidequest are all equal and unnecessary? (Kill etc ...)
