dragon's dogma final quest
If i finish the game I'll be able to still playing the game? I want to do the DLC Dark Arisen after finishing the game.

Or Do I start New Game + instead of keep playing the game?

Once you beat the main story you have to restart. But you keep all of your levels, equipment, and other things. Just the world resets besides beloveds. (Beloveds will still love you through world resets)

I'm guessing the final quest you're talking about is the one to kill the dragon. That's not actually the end of the game. You will start up in post-game and there is a littme more to play i nthe main story. You can do BBI at any time and even when you beat the true final boss and start NG+ you can still do BBI then.

Once you beat the dragon the game doesn't end, you get access to the Everfall which is kind of a tough endgame area with a bunch of arenas and short dungeon areas. You're given one final quest there and when you complete it you will actually end the game.

As mentioned you can do Bitterblack Isle (the Dark Arisen DLC area) whenever you want. I would recommend doing it AFTER you beat the dragon and spend some time in Everfall, but before you do that final Everfall quest to finish the game. When you beat the dragon all your worn gear will be dragonforged which upgrades them and gives them higher stats. BBI is very very tough until you level up a lot, so it's good to have dragonforged gear, and it's good to level up a bit in Everfall before going to BBI. I'd recommend starting to explore BBI around level 50 or so, but it will feel a bit grindy and parts will feel impossible until you're over level 100 or so.

The final Everfall quest to end the game is not hard at all by the way, I just prefer to do BBI in my first playthrough instead of dealing with starting over in New Game Plus.

I hope that wasn't too confusing or spoilering.

so you need lvl 100 to finish the DLC? OMG. I take like 2 hour for leveling up 3 levels and i'm 48.

I do BBI at level 20 on hardmode. THat's just a suggestion.

Once you are in post game, there is an infinte spawn of guards in the noble quarter in Gran Soren. You can stand on a wall near the cathedral and let your pawns kill guards. You can get ~100k exp per hour or so. Leave you game running overnight, gain lots of levels.

Sure, I guess it's cheating, but leveling in this game is boring.

That's not anywhere near cheating. An exploit at most.

You will gain levels fast in BBI, there are many monsters which give huge amount of XP. Honestly I always have the feeling that I'm leveling way to fast lol

No that's not what I meant, sorry.

BBI just has a ton of really really tough enemies who take very little damage until you have leveled up a lot. At first you can just run past them to the next area, and you can fight them later on when you are leveled up more and have better gear.

BBI is split into 3 parts, which you need to play through twice to get the BBI ending scene. The first BBI part is pretty easy and if you have decent gear you can probably do it around level 45 to 55 without much trouble, if you run away from any big tough enemies that barely take any damage. I think it's worth it to explore this area a few times to pick up some good BBI gear. There are a very strong fire strider bow and a strong ice ranger bow that you can get early on in BBI without much danger, for example. I like to get the fire bow for my strider and some good BBI armor before fighting the main game's last boss because you get a 100% chance of getting them dragonforged. Then I go back to BBI to complete it properly.

BBI enemies definitely give a lot of experience and you will be leveling up a lot there.

Another thing I just realized is how useful the clout and vehemence augments are. I always play as a strider and I've taken these for the first time and there's definitely a big difference in my attack power. My first time playing through BBI I didn't know about these augments and I felt like I couldn't deal with the big BBI enemies until I was over level 120 or so. Now I'm at like 80 and I can deal with them quite well.

Any recommendations on where to go at what levels to keep the game challenging? I was considering a full restart on hard mode maybe, don't know yet. At the moment I'm nearly level 50 and I restarted the game on hard mode just before I was to face the dragon but it has been far too easy to be interesting. Do I rush the main story on hard mode and do a NG+ or should I just abandon the main game on this playthrough and go to this DLC area?
BastardSword Feb 1, 2017 @ 1:51am
The main game starts out kind of difficult but yeah it gets way too easy no matter what by the time you finish the wyrm hunt quests. Plus I think the DLC armor and rings they give you for free make the early game easier than it used to be.

Just go do BBI, until you are level 100 or so you won't be able to deal with a lot of its bigger enemies, and you'll feel compelled to grind for levels just to get past them, especially the 2nd BBI boss. I guess also avoid stat-boosting augments like clout and vehemence if you want to stay weaker.
