The problem with not keeping him alive is that you lose out on some really good end-game items.
Damned if you do, damned if you don't... Ce la Vie.
As far as I know, his worst "sin", if you can call it that, is that he evicts a family of three because he thinks he can make more money with his real estate some other way - not exactly a crime of unparalleled evil in the history of human kind.
That and that he isn't exactly following the Duke's law in his dealings with merchants and so on from other realms, but the Duke's a ♥♥♥♥ anyway.
Personally, I wouldn't fret over the decision if I were you. There are far more momentous things going on in Gransis, after all, and in the end there is always New Game + for the perfect playthrough.
(Just keep in mind that to enter New Game+ you have to load your save game, NOT to choose New Game in the main menu! You'll lose all your progress)
In my opinion, he is not worth keeping around for the items he sells; do with him as you please.
Except for a rather gimmicky way of killing the Dragon early, the maker's arrow is completely pointless. It is unnecessary against most post-game enemies, and straight-up doesn't work against the real bosses.
Cheers
You can also have him as your lover. No, I'm not joking.
EDIT: That wasn't Fournival's intention, but it still turned out for the better.
things to keep in mind:
1. if you don't evict them they die in the post-game.
2. while fournival is almost certainly guilty in that quest, you have to keep in mind that a lot of the evidence used for or against him likely wouldn't be admissible in modern court, or at least not enough for a conviction (calling someone who doesn't like him as a witness to say he's an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥? does being an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ make him guilty of unrelated charges?)
also keep in mind, does he deserve to die for such a minor crime? the penalty for money laundering is death? wtf? what about his little girl, does she deserve to be homeless and on the street for that?
3. a minor point, but a lot of the evidence against fournival aside from the ledger in his house are basically angry testimonies, but the evidence in his favor says stuff like "proves fournival innocent", compare:

When I have done the quest the sentence has always been life imprisonment when he is found guilty. I have seen death mentioned a lot though so I am not sure, maybe it is different in some of the translations or something. Also I have heard, I think on the wiki, that you can buy the house so that Symone can still live there.
