Nameless armorset - game set & match ?
Been carrying this set for 40+ levels now.. getting rather bored of it and started looking around for combining pieces and making my own armor with a look that i like more, or isn't tired of seeing.
However... when it comes down to it, what is better in terms of stats? - because stats wins.

Let's say i buy a variety of other armorpieces and upgrade them all to 3stars, will they still have less stats then the Nameless armorset ?. I'm about to engage the quest with the Duke and i haven't even looked at starting the Depraved Island..

For example, i'm carrying the Feather light Pelta which is upgraded max (has the dragon symbol), but how would it compare to a maxed out Gran Soren shield or the large Wall shield?

I'm not looking to magically get that endgame gear that will carry my through the endgame, but i'm rather tired of this armor i've used for 40+ levels, and would prefer to make my own look.

The DLC sets you're given seem really strong at first, but they're really only good as a cheap option. Almost all decent armor sets are going to provide superior stats to the Nameless Armor Set.

To answer the specific question, a Dragon Forged Feather-Light Pelta has 90 defense, whereas a Dragon Forged Gran Soren Shield has 98.

If you want to make your own look go for it, if anything you'll end up with higher stats as long as you're not using all low tier items.

You are considering that the nameless set occupies every item slot and gives corresponding stats, and thus items that only take up one slot will show a stat reduction even though with all slots filled they are better? I feel like after 40+ levels you should already have better stuff unless you have just been grinding monsters without doing any quests or looting chests.

Well, i haven't been playing the game like i normally would, so i haven't been mix/maxing or researching my gear as thoroughly as i would.
Mostly i've been just enjoying the game and taking my time with everything.
I'm L50+ and haven't even spoken to the Duke yet ;)
