Looking for a rusted bow

Hello everyone!

As the title says - I'm currently looking for a rusted bow (lol).
Currently at the BBI stage post game of my second hard mode playthrough, and Reynard is already gone after I finished his quest.
So if anyone has a spare bow, I would really appreciate it, thanks in advance.

I had a DF'd rusted bow, so I thought I'd forge it to gold.. killed a ton of garms and stuff.. took like 10 minutes to get materials I needed.

Can't seem to gift it to your pawn, even if she's a strider. Did not know gold forged rusted weapons can't be gifted.. I already bought it off Reynard so I'd have to rest a week, but if you haven't got it by now I'll look for it.

Just gonna put this here for completeness. Recently I did a playthrough where I started as a Mage but later levelled heavily as an assassin. Getting an early Rusty Bow, I think Reynard doesn't even have them before stage 4?, isn't easy. Then it dawned on me...

When you know you will need a Rusty Bow early but don't want to go strider for the first 10 levels, start game on normal. Choose strider. Exit game. Switch to hard mode. Enter game. Choose your vocation you really wanted (Mage or Fighter), Rusty Bow is in storage.

I found that a generic way to go about trading/gifting is that, if you spent RC, its not tradeable...

Which is sad, because I have a few duplicates of Lv.3 Bitterblack equips that could use a home...

As for the OP, I found their pawn easily, and gifted a rusted bow with 2 stars, it's all I had in storage at the time, but I didn't need it, I'll be happy to hire her again though.

one sure location for rusted bow is first gathering spot near road just when you pass fort north of gran soren. it takes few tries

practically all rusted weapons can be gotten from gathering spots on that road.

once you pass the bridge, if you take left turn there is a magic bow, shield and sword. and if you take right, you can find magic shield, bow,... sadly i forgot the 2 or 3 which are there

sure bet rusted longbow location is gathering spot on road before you reach heavenspeak fort at beginning of the last stretch

i planned to make the rusted weapons map for long, long time. just never find the time and if there is time i forget it

these can be obtained long before reynard sells them

most of 3 star material requirement for rusted weapons can be bought at black cat for change

also, it is not just RC limitation. a lot of lv.1 cursed gear was originally giftable and can be obtained for free in everfall or even bought at standard vendors but you still can't gift it. they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up with BBI when they reclassed them as BBI items. chilling razors that can be bought from madeline are one of the examples
