if you get leggings, that chest might give you something else (example torso) in about 1/5 or less and anything else in about 1/20.(example head/arms)
variating where you farmed helps here a lot.
2 chests in midnight helix
1 chest in forgotten hall
2 chests in fallen city
1 chest in daimon room
you can also farm armor from dire wyvern, death or daimon.
as confusing as this sounds, it is actually to your benefit once you get the hang of it. once you know which item is common for some chest, you can farm that for exact enchantment you want on that piece very easy
ever since i realized this, i never have problem in completing best set possible for each class. not that i wear them.
I see so different areas affect differnt drops thanks! All ive been doing is farming daimon non stop and getting loot from the chests.
here is my loot from current account from chest in midnight helix. 13 head gears, 7 torsos, 5 gauntlets, 1 pants. 1 cloak.
loot from chest in fallen city 8 leggings, 4 torsos, 3 gauntlets, 1 cloak, 0 head gears.
see the pattern? each game i play is like this. ever since i started noticing this, i started paying attention if i'll see break in pattern. so far, not one chest has failed this
but, each game i play. different parts take different commonality. there is no rule which chest is which
Thanks to your advice i was FINALLY able to get a full set of carrion robes it was crazy the effect was almost immediate 1st run to midnight helix got me the head,2nd run got me the gloves.
glad to hear someone confirming my findings.
it is really easy for me to complete top of the top sets since i found out this. like strider,
oblivion str head gear
oblivion stamina gauntlets
oblivion hp torso
oblivion wind pants
funny thing is that beside wind pants i don't even wear those. i prefer fashion over stats. but, need to have it is my fatal ocd
and there is another thing i found out. it seems that when you get gifted armor it is tagged where it was picked from, it resets loot to the same items as your same chest would give out next. it is not random at all. i'm still testing this out though
and another thing is that items dropped from death, daimon, wyvern count as same chest. they never break pattern as well
I'm currently just running Midnight Helix as an assassin, solo, gale harness and invincibility (as it should be called) when there's a prisoner, it's a lot easier, I save before each chest and godsbane if isn't LV3 armor, it's about 1/3 chance for both chests normally, no? if there's a frostwyrm, i do chest 8 first, save, save again after the armor and.. try my luck at the second chest while there's strigoi trying to suck my blood, trying to kick me off the bridge and a dragon casting spells, invincibility once i get to chest 13 or else I'll get kicked off by the 4 strigoi.. annoying as hell
I don't know if there's an easier way.
you don't influence anything.
i'm not 100% sure yet about this. but, so far my testing with probabilities says my thinking is right.
also, why not just kill wyrm? just use golden bardiches at start and it is free experience without even putting a fight. he mostly just keeps shooting blanks being silenced
and i think you mistake one more thing, this is not related in any way how often you will get armor. that is 100% guaranteed with godsbaning anyway. this is related to the fact what armors can be purified from that chest which you can't affect at all. you can only notice which chest has which part as most common item and then farm correct one for most effect.
just as curiosity how well this works. i restarted game previous week just for pawn building. when i test my pawn on my 200 i only give her items where she was present as reward. and with a little of statistics it was trivial to put complete shadow set with best enchantments possible. i'm still missing 2 oblivion (correct enchantments, not pieces) and 2 carrion. when you figure out where to farm what, this is A LOT quicker than just blindly running to same place and farm same chest
