Madeleine not at Gran Soren Inn or Square?

I did the quest guard duty and made it to Gran Soren. Completed some more quests including rescuing Quina and then completed Into the Abyss. However I can't find Madeleine anywhere. Any help would be much appreciated.

Did you complete quest Chasing Shadows?

Otherwise, you'll just find her in Gran Soren some other day

in gran soren she can be in few locations
- inn until she open shop or stays there if you didn't do shadows yet or missed that quest
- shop next to black cat after finishing shadows
and the depending on if you finish her quest line
- under the bridge near exit
if not then she stays in shop until postgame

in postgame
- if you finished her quest line she moves to inn in cassardis.
- if you didn't she moves into one of tents on gran soren field

I have accepted the casting shadows quest, but I have not started it yet. So I would assume that she'd be at the Inn. I also looked around Gran Soren a bit and couldn't find her anywhere.

I also tried resting at the Inn for several days to no avail.

time from when you accept shadows and until you finish it is one moment when she is not available at all. when you will do this quest you will see why as quest ends up with her opening shop and you get information how that happened

If you havent started Chasing Shadows, Madeliene will be wandering around Gran Soren during the day, she can be anywhere inside that city. and at night, you wont find her.
