Any way to copy/edit the character appearance variables?
I was thinking of giving this another go, but it has been a long time since I played it last so I was planning on starting over from scratch.

However, I really liked the visual look of my character and main pawn form the last time I played. I was wondering if there was a way to copy the variable string from my current save and edit my new save to match (similar to what you can do in the Mass Effect games), because I don't think there would be any way I could reproduce the appearance manually.

If not I will probably just continue on with my current game, I think I'm at the end of Act 1.

You get to remake your character before going into NG+

Or you could try this mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/dragonsdogma/mods/96/?

The problem is I really like the look of my character and pawn, not dislike them. I want to start a new game with the exact same appearance variables I have now, but unlike most games there is not a way to save the appearance vairable string through the game itself. That is why I want to know if it can be done through save edditing.

appearance with armor or just appearance? if not with the armor, just write down all the edits to him and redo it all over, not much to write down

Just write them down.
You should have access to the character edit menu with the "art/secret of metamorphis" item form the pawn camp. Or just by starting a new game cycle.

There was a system for it on the "Fashion's Dogma" reddit.
All face/brow/nose/etc. types have numbers. Sliders are numered from left to right. tile libraries (color) are line-number/column-number.

(And yes it takes a bit of time and focus.)

Ah, I'll try the item and write down the numbers, thank you. Didn't know that you could mess with the customization after character creation for your PC... That would have saved me like 10 restarts to get the look exactly how I wanted... :steamfacepalm:

Wel,l the items for the character customization are a bit weird.

You get them from the same pawn merchant in the camp, that sells the inclination elixiers. Both cost RC. The first one can only be used once and the second one unlocks late in post-game.

Remember: You have to quit the active game and access "char edit" for char and main pawn in the game main menu.

So it does not really save you from the restarts the first time.

Thanks, at least now that I have the appearance I want locked down I can just type up the variables in a doc file and use it if/when I want to start over so i only have to play through it once. Do they have a similar item for altering the appearance of the main pawn?

Access to the character editor at the main menu allows you to edit both Arisen and main pawn. Did you exit the character editor prior to getting to access to your pawn?

If you bought Art of Metamorphosis (for 5k RC), that won't allow you to open the character editor again. If you bought the Secret of Metamorphosis (for 10K RC), then you can access the character editor again from the main menu-- as long as you haven't already re-started your game.

I'm near the end of Act 1 with my current playthrough I think. 10k RC is a little nuts in terms of cost though just to be able to check the character creation variables.

Actually, I decided to give this a shot and it worked perfectly. Allowed me to immediatly access the customization screen for both my PC and main pawn and write everything down. Thanks a lot man, I can start fresh and keep the look of the characters exactly the same.
