Performance issue?
Hey there,

I realize this game is still in EA however I should be able to get ~60FPS even on the lowest settings. I have a GTX 980, 32gb of RAM, and an i7 4790k.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks!

Well RAM won't help you, the game is CPU-bound and only ~5GB. CPU single core performance is the only thing that really has a significant impact. That impact increases as you play offline with bots, and decreases if you play on a dedicated server.

Try overclocking, or playing offline with fewer bots

I actually disabled the in-game vsync and antialiasing. Then I went into the nvidia control panel and over-rided the settings (both vsync and antialiasing), I've gained an extra 10FPS+ from that.

did you use the same vsync/AA settings?
My 6600k OC'd to 4.2ghz/1070 gets 4k/60fps easy

I used the exact same settings yes. Makes me think there's some serious optimization to be done on the game!

and that's cool man, i wish i got 60fps lol

Neat, I've asked the devs to take a look at your issue in the discord - btw, that's where almost all of the community is, so is probably the best spot to make a bug report or suggestion

Yeah, that's definitely abnormal that you're getting such low FPS on that machine. My dev PC is lower spec than that.

Quick question - windows10?

Any chance you could go to your Steam\steamapps\common\Angels Fall First\AFFGame\Logs directory and get me the Launch.log file from there (preferably after playing the game, not just the menu, Launch.log is the log from the last game session).

It's just a text file, you can paste its content into something like dpaste.com or just come to our Discord[discord.gg] and drag&drop it there.

I've got the exact same issue - can't get above 20fps with a GTX 1080and i7-7700k. Windows 10.

Solved for me - give your computer a restart after initial install if you're running into issues, I had 20fps everywhere until I rebooted.

One question, did you put that decent gear on a cheap mobo?... seems to be a common oversight with ppl today...
