help me with settings for more stable fps
Hello all, just picked this up along with a new laptop and its a great game. Hats off to the devs this is a really epic shooter and I am thrilled to have found it.

However I am currently experiencing a fps issue its not unplayable just unpleasant. My FPS leaps around from 30 to 60 alot and although the game remains playable it can be "jerky". I am unsure what settings might best suit my machine.
All games off line:

15 7300 hq
16gb ddr4
gt 1050 ti 4gb

Settings i am using
vsync enabled
global detail 3
ship window 1/2
blur type gaussian
everything else on except high detail particles

One thing i have noted is according to afterburner i am not maxing out gpu, processor or of course memory. So I suppose I am wondering I am not seeing a solid 60 because of optomisation or something on my side?
I mean a stable 40 or 50 would be fine I just find the drops a little jarring is all so thought I would ask.

set process priority to high in task manager, force vsync in driver with triple buffering and disable it in game.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. I am a bit of a pc newb though.
" force vsync in driver with triple buffering and disable it in game." where would I do this? Do you maybe have a link to a how-to or something? Thanks all the same I am already better off with the priority setting.

Have you tried pouring salt into the internal fan?

Try checking your system tray - there should be a NVIDIA icon. You want to right click and open the control panel. From there it's under "Manage 3d settings" and go to the program tab.

An alternative explanation is that your cpu is throttling because it's a laptop and laptops have abysmal heat management. Try playing with fewer bots?

Another alternative - make sure your game is actually using the GPU,

More than likely you are maxing out the CPU, the bots are really CPU intensive. Especially with lots of em ingame. I don't know what kind of CPU you have there so I'm guessing that may be it.
Try less bots or online, should give a difference.

Although, perhaps you are running win10? try reinstalling your drivers, win10 corrupts them for Nvidia.

Thanks for the replies all. I later realised that I did not have the laptop set to high performance. Pretty stable now with bots and all, so working nicely.
Thanks for the replies and I am a noob ;)
