Savage Resurrection

Savage Resurrection

Brand new player! Is this game dead?
Just bought it, installed it, only one server with 2 players and the ping is off the wall.

Did I waste my $$$ on the deluxe edition?

The devs are currently putting forth effort to get the population up, more effort than most devs go through. Huge beta key giveaway going on.

Hopefully, the pop will increase rapidly. Share the keys with your friends and request more.

Hmmm.... Giving away temp keys because the game can't get players.

I don't know how to feel about this :p. This game came out around May, correct?

Honestly considering my first ever refund...

Not-to-mention, it seems the giveaway has been going on for a few days now.

Just cause a game is unpopular does not mean it is not good. Regarding a refund, completely up to you if you want to stick with a EA game or jump ships and come back later.

In your opinion do you think it'll pick up wind and not just die off completely? I mean I never even heard of the Savage SERIES until stumbling unto this on steam today.

Not a clue. Beta key giveaway is a start to get the word around. Sending the keys to my friend's list.

Well, I suppose I got 14 days to make a refund request. I'll wait it out see what happens in two weeks. Seems like a great game to play on a full server!

Ya, i agree, and that is, of course, teh problem. Full servers are indeed rare at most times. There are times of the day where they are consistently full, and possibly certain days as well. Been a fan of the series for a while, but just getting into this game, myself.

none of my irl friends will buy this game soley because it has the Early Access tag. I don't mean to say this is true for everyone but I like to believe all the posts on other game forums claiming "don't buy Early access games" is actually an action and not just a statement.

Ultimately there has been nearly zero advertising and was 'stealth dropped' on steam; only S2game fans caught wind of the release. Retrospectively Savage 1 got lucky in the past because gamers were looking for games and Savage was fresh to the scene and people looking for a new game found it easily. Savage Resurrection has a fanbase and is available on Steam...but so is every other Early Access game (many of which I see are abandoned or snoozing on the job).

On a positive note Savage Resurrection has an already tried and true formula for a large commmited community. All the devs need to do is continue their awesome timely patches, remove the EA tag and advertise. Currently, though they are trying to increase player count with temp keys, the game does need be patched for a clean release with advertising. (SR is for the most part free of serious bugs however even small bugs can bring the wrath of negative reviews).

Would be absolutely wonderful if they also expanded on the game. As is it aint bad and is fun, but it is a basic game.

It's not dead because Zhyago's busy cheesing new players. /golfclap

They are trying to up the player count a little bit without advertising too much just to keep testing going. The game is not ready for full release atm. In the future, it will be advertised and the population will go up. Right now, the game is still being built and tested.
Mufasa Jul 18, 2016 @ 8:30am
At least that is what I think they are doing

i honestly only heard about this game when i was flipping through my discovery queue during the Steam sales, and i'm a long time fan of the franchise.

the game is still a WIP. Its not ready yet. Not having alot of players is not a concern to me right now.

If its DOA when it get out of EA though, then thats a different story.

Usually there are 2 full servers, 1 on EU and 1 on US when everyone comes from work/school/whatever else.
