Single Player & Adventure Mode - Npcs, Quests, Story?
Just pre ordered and received my key today, I am super excited! I have played wurm online in the past and loved everything apart from the dedication it requires. I found myself wishing for a Single Player version, and now my wish has come true.

On the announcement it states that Adventure mode will be a predefined world with a few warring kingdoms to live in and explore, and that the main goal will be to find a way of becoming a deity on the moon Valrei. Dose this mean that a Story is planned? Do you think that quests, interactive npcs are a possibility? All those things would make playing by yourself a lot more enjoyable.
Let me know what you all think below.

I think there will be a 'back story' one can find out about if one wants to.

That said, I get the feeling there might be wandering AI that actually fight each other, now that could be very interesting however that would also be a large enough feature that I would assume they would mention it directly.

Actually, I got the opposite impression. There are no quests, npcs or story. It is simply an open sandbox to play in. I agree having quests and a story would be amazing single player experience, but I understand this is almost a copy of Wurm online and that does not include any quests or story.

In adventure mode, yes there are NPCs. They even posted a picture of one on the facebook page. Im pretty sure there are two modes to play in. The adventure mode, which uses wurms sandbox basics, but has some structure around it, or the completely freeform "creative" mode, which is just like wurm online in that it has nothing beyond what you bring to it.

Well, I think making quests would be possible with mission ruler so they're probably using that mysterious tool. Can't wait for livestream either.

NPCs enhancing day-to-day life... to make the game more believably "livable".....as long as it is reasonably realistic (ex pay someone 10k p/day to mine for you).

How cool would that be to have a chef in your kitchen? Or a groundskeep? Or even merc/knights guarding your grounds?

I think a good NPC mod or update is what Wurm needs to be that PERFECT addicting game.
..to simulate a Livelihood. It's what makes the Sims so good.

So, it's a year later. Are there any quests or story in 'Adventure' mode? All I see is skill grinding and terraforming so far.
