hmm interesting. do you think you could make something where players can make a blueprint of something they've made and can then copy it somewhere else? Kind of like how you would copy/paste something in minecraft using //wand, /position1, position2, etc.

Actually looking at it, can you make it compatible with the file format found in "Structures" and "Trees"? I beleive that is the current format for some players.

Thanks for the feedback!

Yes, I think you can make something like this. I'll take a look and try to implement it.

The file formats are not compatible, because I use an JSON-object as top structure and the files referenced by you use an JSON-array. However I simplified and adapted my file structure.

Actually (I didn't knew either, thanks to jack) there is already the tool you want. It's called "Save Tool" and must be crafted using cheats, with "/loot savetool"

My mod is not yet ready to process the files of the save tool, but will be able soon. Friday after the patch probably ...
Valour4eva Aug 9, 2017 @ 7:33pm
any progress on blueprints being able to read json files created from the savetool?
Scarabol Aug 10, 2017 @ 12:29am
yep, it's done. Just waiting for 0.3.0 release to use the new job API ...

Awesome!

If you really want, a quick fix while we are waiting is to simply at the start of the save file add the following:
{ "name" : "blueprintname", "blocks" :
where "blueprintname" is what you want to call it.
At the end of the file add:
}
And then do a find replace on all "t" to be "typename"
I do note sadly that larger creations don't seem to quite work right but... oh well. Maybe its the wheat stages messing it up.

I can get the Save Tool to save the structure using two coordinates, but I can't figure out how to then place that saved structure somewhere else. Noob issue, probably. Sorry for that.
Zun  [developer] Aug 28, 2017 @ 12:11am
it saves to the gamedata/structures/ folder if I recall correctly.
Scarabol Aug 28, 2017 @ 7:55am
... and you need the Construction mod https://github.com/Scarabol/ColonyConstructionMod/releases to build/place it.

THIS MOD IS OUTDATED PLS DON'T USE IT ANYMORE!

Oh. My apologies. Thank you.

How do you use the save tool?
Dallarius Sep 1, 2017 @ 8:58am
Hmpf: :(
I liked it, really! because it was quick & easy! Easy to install, easy to use, easy to expand (new blueprints), blueprints (an whole mod) easy to remove if not needed! ;-)

No simple update.....? *friendlyask* would be great, I loved it! :)

Okay, Construction ist more realistic, but very laborious to remove (new items, new IDs, new blocks which are only removeable with installed mod, but not when re-installed... - after all I had to use a backup I luckly made before)
