UI Disappeared

left my game running for a while to generate resources. came back and the ui is gone. no inventory bar or screen. escape still brings up the menu but the save button is just gone...

ok, i guess there inst a save button in general, I'm just spurging out that on that one. but the ui did disappear. and clicking back to main menu or desktop didn't do anything, I jumped off a cliff to kill myself to try and reset it and the game froze. nut when I logged back in it resumed at the death screen and everything was fine.
