Does stairs not work anymore? *Solved, its the texture pack*

Its been a while I since I played this game.
Do stairs not work anymore? Or am I doing something wrong?
I'm using quarter blocks to make stairs and I can't get over them without jumping.

Edit: It was the texture pack.

I'm having the same issue kind of. If I place the quarter blocks going "west" they are unusable, I have to jump to continue up the blocks, but if I place them any other direction they work fine. I think this might be something to report to the developer.

Dev here! I just tested all quarter blocks and stairs in all directions, and they still seem to be working fine, at least to climb a single block without jumping?

There has been a persistent issue when stairs directly lead to a 2-block-high doorway, but I think that is the case in all directions. Might that be it? Do you have screenshots of the problematic situation?

I agree, I think they indeed are not working smoothly, it depends somehow which direction you are looking at. If you climb stairs while looking straight forward, you can get a little stuck sometimes, if you look up (or down) it goes smoother/without resistance.

3 months later, Its a little bit late, I quit playing already.
From what I remember, I got curious and tried different quarter blocks in different locations, directions and situations, and they almost never worked. Couldn't find a pattern to it.

Got curious again and went to do some testing, and noticed this.
It seems like the hitbox is always facing a certain direction. If you try to pick up the quarter block for a fraction of a second, its revealed.

In the case of stairs that doesn't work, the player does make it up the first quarter block. Its the transition from the quarter block to the full block that makes the player stop, probably because the code thinks the quarter block is facing the wrong way.

You installed a mod, with content not made by us. We did not make that quarterblock, it was added by a mod developer, and it does not appear in the normal, unmodded variant of the game. We cannot fix content made by others.

Interesting. I had to look into this.
I don't have any mods installed, but did subscribe to a texture pack apparently.
I unsubscribed from the texture pack and restarted, and now everything suddenly works.
That's so strange, never seen a texture pack create problems like that before.
It has to interfere with the code somehow?

The other guys commenting probably has the same root cause as me, every symptom they explained sounds the same. The CS devs haven't even done anything wrong, far as I can tell.
I'm glad we figured it out. No more texture packs.

ah yes, I am playing with pretty realistic textures too.
Too bad, I'll keep the pack though as the base textures are a little too low quality for my taste.
