It's below the heath :)

Thanks Pipliznl! I had the same issue because unlike every other biome-specific material, Sulfur doesn't appear in the tech tree or inventory until you actually obtain it, at which point the tooltip telling you how to get it is too late.

I'd suggest either adding its icon to the tech unlocks when you unlock the first thing requiring it, or making the inventory always show its icon even when you have 0 once you unlock a recipe requiring it.

Where exactly - at what depth - is the sulphur found?

I've got an outpost in the heath and I'm mining the silica sand there.

I presume that the sulfur is an ore below the silica sand layer? How far down?

Yeah, it's a bit of an oversight that you don't get the sulfur icon before you've actually got some, as then there's no tooltip to tell you where to find it. If you've already got some, then it's too late for the tooltip. Before that, you've got no icon to hover over to read the tooltip.

Edit: Okay, found some. The tooptip says "Found deep underground in heath biome" and you do have to go down about 7-8 layers deeper than iron ore to find it. I just kept going down, worried I'd gone too far. But it's down there.
