Food / Calorie Meter

Just gona say it. It's confusing.
Berries give more food then cooked lobster and cooked fish. Even tho both cooked fish and lobster give more food.

I think it shoudl rather be how much food a single colonist / Villager gets a day.

IN my opinion it's confusing i would really like to gain better understanding of the food / calorie meter.

A berry gives 240 calories, cooked fish 400. Those values are per item, of course, so a colonist would eat ~8.3 berries or 5 fish for the regular ration of 2000 calories per day. Or whatever value you set the slider at the happiness menu.
Feeding colonists with one item only will require a lot of production, it's recommended to allow them to eat a variety of items. Like, berries, bread and fish at first and later on switch to perpetual stew and luxury meal

can anyone explain to me why my colonists are starving even tho i have food tables everywhere and hundreds of every food item except berries which run out constantly? i have like 1,987k calories in stock and my guys use 577k every day im not even ever coming close to running out of food rn yet about 20 ppl starve every day from various different jobs

Try makeing them eat more of the food you have most off
