How to get more grass?
I am generally liking the game very much and have been playing long enough to build a medium-sized colony. But whenever I am moving stuff around, like farms, to make room for more houses etc. I keep loosing grass in the process and there will be just ugly looking dirt where the farm used to be.

I know I can go find grass elsewhere on the map to replace it and then leave empty pits of dirt somewhere that isn't within my colony.

Is there a way to plant grass? I've tested that grass doesn't spread to nearby blocks as it does in Minecraft.

To my knowledge, you can't get more grass aside from finding it and mining it. This really shouldn't be a problem, there is grass everywhere, if you don't want to take grass from a certain area (e.g. near your castle) just go somewhere else and get grass. If you really don't want to ruin the terrain around you, just do /cheats on in chat, followed by /setflight true and fly somewhere and get grass, it really isn't that hard...

you can easily create grass at the cost of dirt by making a 10x10 dirt square and assigning a forestry area on top of it, then removign the area again. this will turn the dirt into grass^^

another option is to first replace the grass with regular dirt before making a farm at all. but making it a forestry for sec will turn it back to some kidn of grass to

These are helpful solutions. I was also wondering about how to get more grass without messing up terrain elsewhere.

I don't like making comparisons to Minecraft, but it would be nice if grass slowly spread to adjacent blocks as it does in that game. I understand this isn't a very big problem, but it would be convenient.

You can turn cheats on for your save, if you're willing to use cheats.
Then you can input the loot command to get more grass blocks: /loot grass <amount>
This way you don't have to mess up the terrain in your session.

The idea with the forestry area is really good but if you have access to gold coins already then I saw that you can buy grass in the market
