Auto Save?
Just a quick question- does the game auto save? I hope so as I've just quit!

Couldn't find any save button or anything.

Thanks

Yes, it does auto-save. At what frequency, however, I am unsure.

It auto-saves when you close the game that one is for sure, I'm unaware of it's saving during the gameplay itsself on a X amount of time..

But ye it does save on exit (eithert to the main menu or to the desktop :) )

Not to necro the post/question but has the save function or feature been changed/updated? Has a way to manually save your work/game play been added? How do you back YP you save/game play preparing for a possibly corrupt save/ game file?

Not that I know. To be honest if it corrupts...I would be annoyed for a bit but I would just start again. For me that's always been a good thing with CS. Love starting again

i've done it once already, have only ever played a game using some type of controller. but would hate clearing a patch of land 75 Blocks on each side, on a non gaming Walmart computer, with 8 gigs of RAM all over again. its taken me a week to get where i am, ive just dug down to bedrock and learned that, that isnt the way this game is played, i'b truly heated if i had to start all over lol

If you want to backup your save, follow this exact filepath and it should take you to your save:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Colony Survival\gamedata\savegames

then just copy the save folder to somewhere outside of your savegames folder and you should be ok.

Ok, I’ll do that, I tried it before and thought I lost the game save because my controller(s) kept causing my mouse to be none responsive.

The mouse would scroll to the bottom of the screen making it almost impossible to click on anything as long as the game was open

I thought I’d deleted it cause checked as if I put it on One Drive but couldn’t find it because it wasn’t there and then learned it was on drop box

I tried renaming the original save file but couldn’t, it just wouldn’t let me. I tried a few times and couldn’t

I’d already given a title to my new world but didn’t make any changes and so I copied the files I save to drop box into my save games folder and then opened the game and the only world/save that was there, was the newest game/save not the original game/world save

Maybe because they had the same title (TheColony) it chose the newest file I’m not sure
