Question about beds

do each person get a assign bed or do they just sleep in the closest bed to them?

Usually its just the closest, but you can force them to use certain beds too. I lock my miners in the mine and shut the entrance with the amount of beds for them, they havent complained yet :D

hmm thanks i was wanting to build homes that go with their workspaces (or beside the farms)
but wanted them to use their bed not break into others home

That's a solution I've used, too. I tried doing this without blocking the mine entrance at first, but I had farmers heading down to get drunk with the miners at the end of the day. Stupid peasants, wine is for the King!!

Technically you don't. You can block off the path to a set of beds so that only the people in that area can get to them, but other than that, there's not really a way to "lock" beds currently. Not sure if this is something they're going to work on or not. It's not terribly important, but it would be nice if we could.
