The devs are working on it, but along with a zillion other things too
Glad you got yours back under control and didn’t suffer much but yeah waters only purpose in this game is to totally, totally flood you out leaving you at the mercy of the builders
Single mineshaft, and at the first sub-level I had installed a water flow for my water gatherers and fishermen. Way later in the game I decided to renovate the mines and, of course, one block missed, now everything is flooded.
I will actually attempt to salvage all this because (a) finally something to actually do around here and (b) I was renovating anyway. So, question: anyone has any dedicated method to do it efficiently?
Also yeah, a better water mechanic would be welcome.
EDIT: It is slowly occurring to me that with the current water dynamic, it is actually possible to build safe passages to prevent the water from flooding everything.
Basically it never expands upward, it ignores its own pressure. Meaning you dig your door 2-3 blocks below its intended height, then dig a stair 2-3 blocks up, and the water will just stagnate there.
It's a hassle and space-consuming, but such a security would prevent a single breach from flooding absolutely everything.
And I had forgotten the demand for doors...
