Block Destruction
I've not bought this game yet, I've checked out videos on it and it seems like minecraft-TD. I just have one issue.

Is there block destruction in the game? I've seen people talk about creating long narrow pathways and it's even in the trailer. This just seems like it's the most basic route to the flag ai and extremely easy to abuse, especially since you could just build a long winding path that goes into the air and back over itself. Makes the game seem too easy.

So, is block destruction going to be added? Will the zombies be able to destroy walls? You could have it where a destroyed block is "remembered" (or replaced with an invisible block you can pass through) and you assign repairmen to rebuild the remembered blocks each day. This would not add tedious repairing to the player but it would be make the game more challenging. I'd also say block creation, where zombies can spawn a gore block upon death, maybe it's a super low chance to happen, or maybe it occurs once 10 die in the same location or something like that. This would actually allow them to siege and climb over your walls. It would also make it harder because the gore blocks would serve as cover from your archers.

Basically, game looks too easy and abusable, add block manipulation to the enemies.

2 things, 1 zombies only look 2000 blocks ahead so you cant make it that long.
dont underestimate the number of zombies that spawn. you can also incress the number of zombies so its never easy unless you want it to be.

Also dude it is way more challenging on max zombie spawning, zombies spawn in the hundreds, and allowing block breaking would unleash hell opon the player, turning the game into a grind fest, not allowing any science advances.

I would prefer having actual challenge and needing to build fortresses with layered defences and fall back plans and such rather than a single wide-block path that is exactly 1999 blocks long to my flag and manned by archers on either side.

Also having more zombies simply turns the game into a grindfest since the only strategy is "more archers". Having the zombies destroy blocks which repairmen automaticly repair turns it into a better strategy and tower defence game. It doesn't add "grind".

I do agree with you in some ways ...I built a colony with a big maze and found that the zombies and monsters would spawn quicker than they would be killed because they spawned outside the range of my defenders. Thus they would build up in numbers and actually attack in waves.

I have now deleted that maze ( that ran round the entire colony ) to work on a more efficient way of dealing with the invaders.

At the moment dealing with zombies is quite interesting when you try and balance food and happiness. At the moment the zombies are really just an annoyance, but a bit of a fun one :)

Now I'm more concentrating on the building aspect , have switched off the zombies and happiness ..... But will switch them back on once I've finished building.

Here is a quick Vid showing the maze :

That's the stuff I would prefer to not have, because a maze like that is just really gamey.

I agree, which is why I have now removed the maze :) Now I know how zombies spawn I can create a better defence.
But at the moment have actually switched of zombies and am concentrating on building .

It would be easier. You play a character that can keep the blocks from the Pyramids in your pocket. With the new builder mode you could lay down a stone wall 25 bocks thick with a few clicks. Wall breaking would only work with a realism mod with longer construction times and harder mining.

You could make it so that the invisible block left behind for the repairmen stops constructions. To anyone saying "just increase the number of zombie spawns". That doesn't really change the strategy that you do. You just make the path longer and add more archers in unreachable positions.
