colonist only mining stone
how do i set them to mine other things they only min stone even when i face them at copper ore

Like Barry's nemesis said, place the arrow on top of the ore. The reason you get an arrow is because the miner marker and the guard marker are using the same placement code, so you get an arrow when placing miners. Just make sure the arrow is on top of the block you want the colonist to mine and that's what you'll get. The direction the miner faces really doesn't matter except for aesthetics.
