I'd recomend using it from the website, go to releases and read the text at the top to get to their actual archive of versions.

I had my blender force updated today, and i had to set everything back up from scratch, not happy about it.

You know on the splash screen, there's a checkbox that says "keep settings" when it updates

Yeah except none of my plugins work anymore.

same, but i just had my folder backed up so i just restored it and it works.

i think you could similarly redownload blender 3.5 from the website and just replace the files in the blender steam folder and it'll work (maybe)

Then what's so hard about downloading the version you've used before from the Blender website and use that? Your settings and addons are all stored in AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation

As long as you don't delete the folder with the version number you're using, everything should work like before with the Blender website download.

I've already restored it, it still doesn't change the fact it's caused problems.
Sadly, I was unaware of the Appdata files, but, thanks for the information anyway.

I know and never did I say that. ^^

No problem and if you missed the initial "Keep settings" splash screen in the new version then just delete the folder for the new version in the Appdata folder and restart the new version. The initial slpash screen then reappears so you can transfer the settings.

I am not liking this new version at all.

First had to spend about an hour trying to find all my files. Then I had to install all my addons again. Then for whatever reasons Cycles now runs terrible.

And now export the old wav file format..
