Wow this game truly is terrible
Game is on Normal, AI has pinpoint accuracy, health pool is like shooting at a tank (even when guns are in the same level), and there is no one playing.

Thank god for the trial.

Maybe you were expecting a more realistic combat game? The Division is basically an ARPG.

No. I was just expecting a fair balance. Impossible to play alone when tanky enemies appear on the first missions in the city.

as one of the many who have played the first missions solo several times. it is very much possible to do.

That being said, stay in cover. dont try to face tank because this isn't that kind of game.
the Ai does not have perfect accuracy but their aim does get better the longer you stay out in the open to be a target or the longer you stay in the same covered position, so move from cover to cover often.

when you level up see if you can get better gear, fire arms and stamina stats keep you alive in the early game (less that they do later but enough to make a difference)

and last but not least. try asking for help. you might think the game is dead but it's not there are many still playing and many who are not only willing but happy to help new players learn and get set up.

Are you sure the AI doesn't have a perfect accuracy?

I know playing solo has it's risks so i always try to stay in cover, try to move between covers often and even blind fire but even when doing any of that the AI always manages to take a shot at me no matter how little exposed they or i am so every move costs a great part of my small health, making me die pretty quickly

How far into the game did you get? What gun are you using? Your like lvl 4? Did you go do the Mason mission? Ran into that bad ♥♥♥♥♥ in that apartment complex? Your best bet is leave that mission for the last, after you've cleared the other missions. Maybe get a little gear. Dont forget to look for the little green crates, they have gear in them. Also, when you run the main campaign, focus mainly on getting your Firearms and Stamina up. Firearms is your damage, Stamina is your health. Its not entirely about just having a lvl 3 gun. If your firearms is trash, your damage will be trash. If your stamina is low, your character will be a complete butter ball. Not that your character is ever particularly tough running 1-30.

Also, this is a cover shooter, if by chance, your trying to face tank things while standing out of cover, dont do that......fight from cover always. Learn to get proficient with moving cover to cover. Retreating as you need to. You can even blind fire. Just sit behind cover, aim the reticle at the enemy, and fire without aiming. Your guy will blind fire. Also, you have various grenades, hold G and pick different grenades. Some are crowd control nades that can help buy you time and keep enemies away from you.

Next what gun are you using? When running 1-30 campaign, your best bet is find an Assault Rifle because they are best overall and easiest to use. ARs give armor damage which will make it easier to rip through the armor bars(those white bars on the enemy health bars). SMGs dont have the range or power and sniper rifles simply fire to slow and dont do the damage required to prevent you from being over run. LMGs are also good options due to mag size, though, if you dont have very hgih firearms, LMGs can feel pretty weak overall.

As for bosses, yellow bars and stuff? Yes they are tough as hell. The game is actually the hardest running from 1-30. Once you get into the World Tiers, it actually gets a little easier.

So basically i'd have to grind a lot just to progress a little in the game?
Pretty lame though but thanks for the info still.

Grind alot to progress a little? Honestly, not really. I personally ran the tutorial police station mission a couple times on normal just to get some gear from the final boss, though once your on the main island, its not that grindy really. Its just a matter of knowing which missions are a hard and which ones are easily done. That Michelle Mason mission happens to be the hardest one in that starter area in Chelsea. You get gear every time you complete a mission, enemies drop different gear pieces fairly often, so its not that hard to get gear as you go.

This game is kinda rough when you first start out. Cant lie there. You dont have any money to buy stuff, no material to reroll anything.....so, yeah, your at the mercy of the RNG. You could maybe ask in Pennsylvania Plaza, once you unlock the BoO, for some help completing missions.

The game actually has a couple points where the difficulty spikes. That being like lvl 12, 15, 20 and 25. Then once your at 30, it actually starts to get easier. You get gold gear and then your character power actually starts increasing for a change. All throughout the campaign, your character is always weak as hell.

You could add me on steam and hmu if you want me to help you sometime, or on UPlay, im KnightGhostbear there.

the first thing is what cover you're using, if you're using is one that makes your crouch you're still exposed very slightly the same as the AI when they use it, if they are elevated above you that makes it even easier to get a shot. cover that lets you stay standing is best. as well as some cover can be shot through like car windows.

it is true the AI does NOT have perfect accuracy but their aim isn't as horrid as other games and they do have awareness of where you are once a fight starts so they can track you when you move between cover. just watching the cases of the AI fighting each other in the DZ shows their accuracy isn't perfect but its enough to be a threat the longer the fight goes on. that's why most players go for a DPS build that lets them reduce the number of AI faster and rely on medkits or someone in their team devoted to healing.

Did ya know double tapping space makes you do a combat roll while running? That can also help break up the AI accuracy on you, while running in the open. You actually run faster if you do a cover to cover move. That is, from cover, look at a piece of cover you want to move to, then hold Space. Your character will quickly do a low run to the next piece of cover. Thats how your actually supposed to do it, but it is a little clunky to do mid fire fight, and IDK how many people actually use it.

Next, if you want to improve your durability some more, and havent given up on the game, in the security wing of the base, at the upgrades laptop, there is an upgrade that gives you 15% dmg reduction for 10 seconds after getting a kill while moving. That is, if you get a kill while your so much as doin a little side step, it gets you some damage reduction. Its a perk I dont leave home without. In the medical wing, you want Adrenaline rush. Popping a medkit gives you short term immunity to status effects like burning and shock. Then to boost your own killing potential, again, from security wing, you want: Precision. Applies Pulse to any enemy you headshot. Pulse both highlighting the enemy and also giving you a boost to Crit chance and crit damage. This also allows you to get pulse benefits without having pulse active, so you can run something else. Then are you making sure to run First Aid as a skill for the healing?

pinpoint? far from it. GTA V Online's A.I is far more accurate. only drawback i find is the A.I is spongy but they sorta fixed it in Division 2. Game remains still amazing

I sure am confused by this thread. I can't be bothered to read those walls of text, but uh... OP, you're doing something wrong if you're finding the game unfair so early on. I imagine you didn't even reach Manhattan? Might help to have a veteran play with you to understand how you can improve your tactics.

I guess the point's already been made, tho. TD isn't for you, which is fine. If you're having this much trouble early on, you're not gonna have a good time once you come across hunters at endgame. Trust me on that. Even prepared veterans can have trouble with them.

Hunters are actually kinda a joke. Basically, you bait them into charging at you, across an open area or long hallway. I face them in the UG with regularity now. Only time they get me is when I get to close to a corner....

Except they one-hit KO you if you let them get close enough.

Anyway, if you find them that easy, good for you 💁🏻‍♂️ Try doing that on survival. That'd be fun. But they're supposed to be challenging and if one is not prepared and careful, it's very easy to lose for them.
