A way to shut off seeing other players
Hi guys!
I really wish there was a way of shutting off seeing other players at the hub, for the Single Player experience. I know this is supposed to be a multi-player game, but for a single player experience I would love to be able to do the main campaign without seeing all these other players at the hub centers. It really takes away from the story and the feeling that I want to have living in a post-pandemic New York, watching all these other people standing there or bouncing about, moving through them to get my assignments.
It is just taking me totally out of the game, because I want to experience the game but it all feels silly instead and brings me back to "this isn't real but just a stupid multi-player game".
When I am playing for instance The Witcher, I get totally into the game world and the story, because it feels like I am experiencing it for the first time. Imagine if I could see every other player trying to have the same experience, or jumping about acting stupid in front of every quest giver?
Why do I have to see these other players? Can't you make a toggle to turn it off, so that I can feel like I actually am the character in the game?

it doesn't impact anything that should bother you, same through all safe houses, just an additive way to meet or greet people, although normally people don't interact with each other, they are just there, it is still single player when you leave the safe house or hub locations

What you're askinng for is, plain and simple, a full-fledged offline mode akin to what PSO and PSU had. I wish they would do that as well, but before they should add a system similar to FFXI's Trust system. That would make offline bearable for content such as resistance if the AI is more competent than the JTF patrols.

But remember this: the Division isn't made of just one person. When the second wave was activated, we weren't the only ones to be awaken. So see everyone else as division agents and you should be good for the most part.

Thanks for your answers guys. Hoping for some more. I just lose my sense of immersion when I see all these people just standing there or bouncing about and they bring nothing to the story. I can't for the life of me understand what use seeing this over-crowded room of people taking the same assignments as me does to improve my immersion into the story version of the game. If they have used proper object-oriented programming it would be a simple matter to give us an option to turn off seeing other players, at least in the hubs.
To be honest I can't understand how anybody can see it as a feature to see ten other random people running up doing the same thing I am at the beginning of the game, when I want to feel important in my assignments. What is the point of this thinking? I don't want to meet and greet other people that look eerily the same as I do with different names. I do that in real life all days of the week. I want to immerse myself in the game that I am told is really good now after the patches, but coming in there at the beginning of the game unfortunately really just ruins the experience for me.
I think for the people who want to have that experience, fine. Make it a toggle you can turn off and on. If you want to meet other people, use the desk in the hub designed for meeting other people. I was told this game was designed to be a solo player RPG as well as a MP RPG and that people could choose how they want to play. Making this simple fix to let you decide whether you want to see other players should be easy.
I just don't see how seeing a bunch of people literally walking into each other like ghosts taking the same assignments is helping to make the game feel immersive!
