The pop-up you're getting for deconstructing an item happens because there are mods attached to that item. This pop-up shouldn't come up otherwise. One way to avoid this is accumulating items, then marking everything you don't want as trash, and either deconstructing or selling them. You'll still get the pop-up for every item with mods attached that you mark as trash, but once you're aware of the mechanic it's much easier to adapt to pressing "A" because you know what it's asking.
I never had this problem where I just randomly open the inventory and I get a pop-up asking if I want to save my loadout.
Maybe there is an option you're missing, but this game has way too many options in the settings menu. I'll see if I can find an option that could cause that and come back to you.
Edit: Just a heads up, but you can also manually save the loadout. It's right stick click on controllers. One click, one pop-up, hit A, and then you're good. You barely even notice it once it becomes second nature.
The thing that frustrates me most is that there is a "press x to delete" option right there on the screen, which would solve my problem, but it's like greyed out.
Howabout the devs just don't do dat and let the button they put in the game do its job lol
If you have multiple loadouts, always use the same weapons for each of them - so same primary, secondary and sidearm weapons. If you want to use a specific weapon for a specific loadout, then first change the loadout and then select the weapon you want from your inventory or stash. That way you can add new weapon mods, without messing up each loadout.
