How do you rename a file?

Because I had to download a new x-server.sys from Naix =w=, I've got a different look (which I don't particularly like).
I found my old x-server.sys by hacking Naix but I'm not sure if you can rename the file or not.
Is that possible in the game? If yes, please leave a comment and help a noob hacker out ;w;

+ I heard that there's a game similar to Hacknet called Uplink. Is it worth playing? Thank you! :D

Renaming should be able to be done using the mv command (that's how you do it in linux) using somethign like this:

mv fileCrApYNm.wtf file.txt

Uplink is vastly different, it's mostly about clicking, and is the first major project by Introversion Software (Prison Architect).

Another (more similar imo) game is the "Hacker Evolution" series (it's on Steam)

If you look around, Introversion sells the source code to Uplink, if you want inspiration on how the systems work. Uplink also has a variety of mods (although steam installation has been iffy for me)

mv is the cmd for renaming/moving files.

ex. mv x-server.sys(1) x-server.sys

This will change the name from x-server.sys(1) to x-server.sys

I'm trying to rename [RedRaith]x-server.sys to x-server.sys typing:
mv [RedRaith]x-server.sys x-server.sys
but it won't work, file not found

As said above, Uplink is more about clicking. However, I find it to be the better game. (Not knocking Hacknet)

I liked the new look after i got hacked, the green is easier on the eyes than white text.

The only thing that annoys me is it switched the notes section to the right side of the screen, is there any way to switch it back to the left?

hacknet is cool, if you are wannabe sysadmin. Coz here you may learn, how to do stuff on linux (yeah, amount of commands kinda lacks, but still). Wish, that there will be ability to play without mouse at all

You actually can play most of the entire game after tutorial with keyboard only. The mouse just makes things like checking your mail faster than having to navigate the entire directory to read it. I've beaten it several times.
