4GB Patch
Some of you might have experienced that after several hours of playing, the image of some weapons (usually two-handed ones) will become colorful squares.

After some investigations, this seems to be a memory leak issue very similar with what happened for M&B early versions. Unfortunately, the executable file for BB is 32-bit and can only use 2GB of your memory, making this problem even worse.

There is a 4GB patch online https://ntcore.com/?page_id=371. However, it is a exe patch and as you know, all steam games are DRM protected and we cannot apply a patch to the executable file directly. I tried this patch on the GOG version of the game and it works just fine.

Is it possible for the Devs to officially make a 64-bit executible file? Or just simply applying this patch to the official exe shall also be beneficial.

Kinda weird to make a patch for a bug before you make a bug report, I would recommend to anyone in here to avoid clicking their link.
I apologize for my caution ahead of time if I am mistaken.

Maybe this should be moved to bug reports?

Might be a good idea to read the whole post before replying.

It should be in bug reports, and nowhere in op's original post did he say that he didn't make said "patch", it was a bit of a shady post with other context clues like (doesn't work on drm protected versions, the inclusion of a uncommon link/url site, and it is an issue I’ve never heard of). I would say my suspicion was warranted, but that's in the past, reading comments after mine, or the part of my comment that you left out negates the need for your snarky comment.

Though a patch to the executable file would be the ultimate fix as the OP suggests. The colorful squares images may be removed by right clicking on the game in the Steam Game Library, “PROPERTIES…”, in the “LOCAL FILES” tab, "VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME FILES…".

This is a necro but Is there any plan for devs to make a 64-bit executible file? The vanilla is too boring and legend mod always exceed that 2gb bottle neck causing memory leak in mid game. Later save corrupt is inevitable even I save it extreme cautiously, I load a "good" savefile and after one in game day that file will be corrupt just because layer loading memory exceed 2gb.

Also, has anyone used that patch, does it work and does it work in current version?
I'm sick of the save corruption

Also I found this patcher in Nexus too, anyone knows how to use this?

Anybody managed to patch the game? Legends mod is unplayable with Steam version. If I get DRM free game and patch it - will it work with Legens?

We need this 4gb patch for steam!

Definitely... vanilla version is so much worse than Legends. Funny that I used to play Legends some time ago, on earlier versions and it did not crash.

Since I already got and paid for Steam version, I downloaded it from some site, bought again from GOG to update it to the latest version and patched it with 4GB patch. Seems to work now. And got GOG refund of course.

I've been waiting for 12 thousand years.

me too - still waiting - have the game with all DLC`s on Steam and not willing to buy it on another platform just because DEV`s don`t support the game with a a 64-bit executible file for steam :/

4 Years and they still haven't done it?

Maybe not the place to post but anyone with AMD drivers here? Arenalin broke the game into unplayable mess. Corrupt savefiles and visual glitches every half hour, terrible.

Agree. I really wanna play a modded game on Steam. I would've about 450 hours of playtime if weren't for this problem.

And all over guys, find the issue and solved problem (for AMD users):
You can fix that by going to System > Display > Graphics and setting Battle Brothers to high performance. It's noting that a user may need to add the BB exe to the list if not automatically there.
