Any Risks to download the Legends mod?

Hey everyone. I`m new to the game and i absolutly love it so far. I just wanted to try out the legends mod(s), but beside the fact that i don`t know where to get it, are there any risks to download any mods, which arent linked in steam?

its safe. join the Discord you can easy find it on reddit battle brothers or search for it with google. Im not sure the rules of links here, so good luck.

also check Nexus mods. thats where you can find it without Discord.

If you load a vanilla save after putting in a mod (or load a modded save after removing the mod) it will give error and crash the game, but that's about it? Maybe a save corruption is possible if you do this.

Extracting the zip (a common mistake) may also screw up the entire game, which require you to completely purge all files before reinstalling to fix it.

And finally, big mods such as Legend carries the inherent risk of memory leak and corrupted saves. Avoid playing in ironman, and maybe install that one mod that gives you multiple autosave slot.

If you use Legends make sure to also get the 4gb launcher for steam, otherwise you will eventually run into save corruptions that manifest itself in forms of colored square artifacts.

You can in some cases save it by immediately saving and quitting then reload but that is no guarantee especially not on ironman.

All you do is run the launcher which is located outside bb folder, then click patch 4gb and launch, no need to set game location on Steam.

I have never had a save corruption since i started using the launcher, i think my longest game was like 300 days and counting.
