Legends - Is it worth it?
So having seen the new DLC announcement my motivation to play the game has peaked again after finishing a run a while back by defeating the kraken.

I was gonna start a new game but i've heard legends is extremely fun to play with, is it worth downloading or should i stay vanilla?

on their discord channel there is even a new build with fixed bugs I encountered :D
Well made mod and I look forward to possibly reinstalling it some day but as someone totally new to the game I found I could not get ANYWHERE with the mod installed, as soon as I removed it and did the vanilla tutorial I had no problem getting to day 60+ whereas I couldn't get to even day 3 or 4 with Legends installed. I don't think it ramps up the difficulty THAT much, but it made the cost of everything very prohibitive, and the contract rewards start out at like, 100 gold instead of 300-400 gold... food for thought.
For me Legends is what vanilla should be from the beginning (especially when it comes to max map size and houses aggresively competing all the time). Some legendary gear is OP like said above but mod also throws some scary variants your way. You don't wanna face Demon Alps or uber Nachzehrers bro
legend mod balance? how about your barbarian avatar hero, get the "morale check on every enemy when killing any enemy", and then proceeding to route 50 orcs by decapitating 3 orc young. thats the kinda high tier balance this mod offers. and its amazing to watch. i forgot the exact name.

just image the base line lone wolf start up and start with a lower armor, 2+ star on every combat stat champion. its great

not to mention the other start up avatar classes can appear as random events so you can find a seer [mage] vaga... rune maker and all sorts on any setup.

the armor rework alone is worthy of its own shout out, its so much clearer then the base game, not to mention stupidly easy to install. dosnt even need extracted out of the winrar file


honestly the new patch due soon, with its retainers, seem like weaksauce boring stuff in comparison to the legends mod. the only questionable thing to me is the re-work to the staff sling, as it has a -50% hit chance, gaining +5% per distance tile. its just so weird. its also been revved up to warbow/ heavy cross bow standards.

seriously its a huge shame workshop isnt up, that mod needs more of a shoutout

Maybe you should try a "3 skull origin" instead. No joke, but the difficulty is off the mark. I find the start from "1 skill origins" for beginners much harder then their "crusader origin / 3 skull".
The recent version of the mod is better balanced, but it still need some adjustments in my opinion.

Definitely. But I would wait for them to make the layered versions of the last vanilla update's armors first.
I love Legends but don't overdo this custom-made arena which can be found in the wilderness. Easy peasy fights which give you something like 8k gold each. They should change this for sure.
