A merchant wishes to buy the tome for a absurd price (~10,000) he seems suspicous, and reeks of rotting flesh, There are two options, give it to him or withold the tome (Either way you have to fight some undead and you get no gold)
Can go on a multi stage quest to find the original maker/owner, (The quest should be random every time, so maybe one time you find his tomb and get loads of gold, and another you get a special party member)
After one declined his request to raise his pay and he is about to leave, I would like to have an option, in case you really want to keep him, for a price of course, saying:
[You reconsidered]
You, "Alright, alright! You will get the raise."
(I imagine 2 options here)
Option 1:
Sellsword Peter grins, "So I will get my X (he now asks for 150% of the amount he requested before) Crowns per day? Splendid!"
[1. No way!]
[2. Done.]
-------------------------------------------
[1. No way!]
You, "Who do you think you are?! Shove off!"
Peter leaves the party.
---------------------------------------------
[2. Done.]
You laugh, "You, greedy bastard! Fine, X Crowns it is then."
Peter gets+1 mood level and a pay raise.
----------------------------------------------
Option 2:
Sellsword Peter, "I knew you are a reasonable man". He leaves your tent and joins Gunther(preferably another Sellsword) to continue his duty. Some minutes later Gunther comes rushing into your tent, threatening to leave the company, if he won't get a raise immediately.
[1. Calm him down and offer him the same pay as Peter.]
[2. Be reasonable.]
[3. Shout him down.]
-----------------------------------------------
[1. Calm him down and offer him the same pay as Peter.]
You, "Okay, listen. You will get the same as Peter, but you will keep it to yourself."
Gunther agrees satisfied and leaves again.
Peter gets+1 mood level and a pay raise.
Gunther gets +1 mood level and a pay raise.
------------------------------------------------
[2. Be reasonable.]
You, "You should have in mind, that a little less is still way more than none. And I remember a certain Sellsword not finding any work whatsoever, forced to beg for weeks, being more than glad to join this very company not long ago."
Sellsword Gunther sees, that he is treading on thin ice, nods short, but reluctantly and leaves again.
You somehow have the feeling that this is not over yet.
Peter gets+1 mood level and a pay raise.
Gunther gets -1 mood level
(50% chance all the party asks for a raise the next day.)
-------------------------------------------------
[3. Shout him down.]
After you are done, he calmly wipes your spittle off of his face and leaves your tent again.
But you somehow have the feeling that this is not over yet.
Peter gets+1 mood level and a pay raise.
Gunther gets -2 mood level
(75% chance all the party asks for a raise the next day.)

low on money,
low on food,

As you make your way through an overcrowded street of the trade quarter you clearly pick out the words "cheap" and "meat" from all the noise around you and quickly locate their originator.
A thickset, short man having his booth in a side street apart from the good positions. No question the reason he has to sell cheaper than the others.
You eagerly push an old woman aside to get the attention of the merchant, repeating questioningly "cheap meat" in a loud voice, to make sure you did not misunderstood.
"- of the very best quality; only 25 Crowns the pound", he shouts back grinning.
[1. Five pounds then.]
[2. I thought you said cheap.]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[1. Five pounds then.]
"Very well", replies the merchant and vanishes downstairs into a cellar, to return again some minutes later, heavily sneezing, with your order. Answering your questioning look, he finally manages to say, "I've always have to sneeze, when dogs are around".
[1. What type of meat, did you say, is this again?]
[2. Ah, I see.]
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[2. I thought you said cheap.]
Disappointed you take your leave.

[1. What type of meat, did you say, is this again?]
The merchant suddenly starts to sweat. Thinks a moment and lowers his voice, "Fine. 20 Crowns the pound."
[1. Deal.]
[2. I am serious; what a meat is this?]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[2. Ah, I see.]
You, "I hope you get better." You pay the man, take your meat and leave.

Really worried someone could hear him, he answers after a short pause in a low voice, "Hunting is forbidden, you understand. - Listen, I really don't want any trouble. 17 Crowns per pound, if you stop probing now."
[1. I understand.]
[2. You ponder.]

[1. I understand.]
You know very well how guards can be and really don't want to cause him any trouble, so you make the deal.

It seems, that you are thinking a little too long about the offer. "I really have to close now", he suddenly bursts out, "You know what, take it for free." He hastily leaves through the cellar door and closes it behind him.
[1. Very well then.]
[2. Strange.]

As you are about to leave, you spot a patrol. You take your gift and see to it that you bring some distance between you and the guards; the last thing you needed to deal with, is trouble with some guards.

It is more a feeling than anything, nonetheless you decide to follow down the merchant into the cellar.
At the door though, you hesitate for a moment.
[1. What's all this good for? Leave.]

Soon afterwards you rush wax-pale through the door again, up the stairs, heavily trying to suppress the urge to vomit.
After the first shock is gone and you quickly make your way back to your companions, you sincerely ask yourself, if you will ever be able to eat meat, you have not seen being butchered with your own eyes, again.

Seeing your men welcoming you back at camp, staring wide-eyed at the meat, you solemnly proclaim an extraordinary ration.
Cires of joy are quickly followed by silence and the noise of people gobbling their food until
Randolf the Butcher/Hunter/Poacher/Servant, who so far has not done anything more than eying and smelling at his meat suspiciously, begins to speak, „What a meat is this actually? It looks strange.“
Suddenly all the men freeze, their eyes focused on you.

Randolf bursts into laughter, „I can tell, that this is definitely not venison. And judging by what you have told, I would not touch this ♥♥♥♥.“
That was enough for all of the band to disgustedly spitting out and throwing away, what they some minutes ago gulped down so eagerly.
