Hence the first sentence of the suggestion.
My mistake, after reading your idea again I think it is a good one - not sure what I was thinking.
Random additional idea: increase taxidermist materials by a lot (such as hexe and alp or even schrat parts) pair with some quests and make something like a spirit calling drum. Raises one fallen bro during a battle as a spirit version of it for the duration of the battle. Otherwise completely useless. Maybe even breaks the drum after it is used. And the fallen bro has zero chance of surviving their death blow post battle.
We got Recovery in exchange.
Not what is being suggested at all. The suggestion is make them lootable but have a completely different function for the player.
This way, it is raised but it CANT be used multiple times to regain it), Drumer needs to succeed an individual resolve check for each brother he wants to affect.
I dont like the idea about using the taxidermist to "GET" an usable drum. Taxidermist should be used only to improve over something that already exist or alchemy. Maybe reinforcing a normal drum gives a bonus to your chance to roll resolve.
Im really on the fence with this, I see drums as something only the barbarians would get something from, your band band of brothers is more... cant find the word, but i think i wanna say "civilized"?
These kind of drums are more tribal than the ones you see in musket wars :3, where they had the purpose of cordinating volley fire, making that kind of drums kinda out of time and place for your band of mercs.
- Allow the wearer to trigger "Rally the troops" perk for free (but with reduced 2 tile radius) when another nearby troop rallies the troops. Drummer must not be stunned.
- Passively increase the strength and radius of the rally the troop skill of nearby troops with rally the skill. Drummer must not be stunned.
This would kind of work like having a drummer to extend the message of your sergeant further in the battlefield so even your troops further away can reach the rally encouraged by the drums.
Many have use them to issue commands around the battle field, romans, japanese, etc.
Then why not adding boosting skills like drums does, restore stamina, increase acuracy, defense or as stated above.
