Barbarian Drums
They should be lootable and usable, but in a different way than the barbarians use them (as group fatigue be gone would be OP to the extreme for so many builds)

My general thought is: Slay drummer, take his busted drum. Slay unholds, get their skin + maybe bones. Taxidermist it up and you have an unhold skin war drum.

What would it do?
It could go in the necklace slot and give a bonus to resolve for another one of those items. Or a minor - resolve for all foes in X tiles of user.

It could be a usable item that gives a use of rally the troops (or provides a bonus to characters who have the perk)

or
It could be a weapon slot item that gives the user an anti-rally the troops for your foes lowering their morale. Higher resolve, more effective.

The Devs mentioned that in a weekly Dev log post that there is no way to prevent the players from spamming the drums making 2 hand builds wearing max armor unstoppable.

Hence the first sentence of the suggestion.

My mistake, after reading your idea again I think it is a good one - not sure what I was thinking.

It happens to the best of us :) Also I worded it in kind of a weird way.

I would love to hear any other potential drum uses or ideas. The above are just examples.

Random additional idea: increase taxidermist materials by a lot (such as hexe and alp or even schrat parts) pair with some quests and make something like a spirit calling drum. Raises one fallen bro during a battle as a spirit version of it for the duration of the battle. Otherwise completely useless. Maybe even breaks the drum after it is used. And the fallen bro has zero chance of surviving their death blow post battle.

That was the old Rally (AoE fatigue recovery scaled on resolve), i doubt they will ever consider putting it back into the game (it was pretty stupid good).
We got Recovery in exchange.

Not what is being suggested at all. The suggestion is make them lootable but have a completely different function for the player.

Instead of restoring stamina it should give you a condition that RAISES MAX STAMINA TO 15% (raising maximum and also current stamina acordingly).
This way, it is raised but it CANT be used multiple times to regain it), Drumer needs to succeed an individual resolve check for each brother he wants to affect.

I dont like the idea about using the taxidermist to "GET" an usable drum. Taxidermist should be used only to improve over something that already exist or alchemy. Maybe reinforcing a normal drum gives a bonus to your chance to roll resolve.

Im really on the fence with this, I see drums as something only the barbarians would get something from, your band band of brothers is more... cant find the word, but i think i wanna say "civilized"?
These kind of drums are more tribal than the ones you see in musket wars :3, where they had the purpose of cordinating volley fire, making that kind of drums kinda out of time and place for your band of mercs.

Forgot to mention, the idea is to get the fatigue bonus for at least 2 turns (not everyone will get affected depending on the resolve of the drumer and the brothers), max fatigue not only gives you a bit more of stamina to play around but it also widens the gap before you start losing initiative due to fatigue. So its kinda useful and not OP broken

I like the idea about the drum in accessory slot. I think the "buff" from wearing the drum could be either:

- Allow the wearer to trigger "Rally the troops" perk for free (but with reduced 2 tile radius) when another nearby troop rallies the troops. Drummer must not be stunned.

- Passively increase the strength and radius of the rally the troop skill of nearby troops with rally the skill. Drummer must not be stunned.

This would kind of work like having a drummer to extend the message of your sergeant further in the battlefield so even your troops further away can reach the rally encouraged by the drums.

I made a post long ago, suggesting musical instruments as supportive weapons.

Many have use them to issue commands around the battle field, romans, japanese, etc.

Then why not adding boosting skills like drums does, restore stamina, increase acuracy, defense or as stated above.
